Hakan Hagegard are the soloists in this performance of Strauss'
comic operetta from the Glyndebourne Opera House, with the
Glyndebourne Chorus and the London Philharmonic Orchestra,
conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. Rosalinde, wife of Eisenstein, is
having an affair with Alfred. Eisenstein is due to begin a prison
sentence the next morning, and the prison governor, Frank, is
expected to collect him at any moment. However, Eisenstein allows
himself to be talked into attending a fancy dress ball by Dr Falke,
and when Frank arrives to find Alfred with Rosalinde, he assumes
him to be Eisenstein and carts him off to prison.
Glyndebourne's Musical Director Vladimir Jurowski leads the London
Philharmonic and the Glyndebourne Chorus in this production of
Stravinsky's opera recorded live in December 2010. Performers
featured include Miah Persson, Topi Lehtipuu, Clive Bayley and
Matthew Rose.
Live performance of the opera by Giuseppe Verdi conducted by Mark
Elder. Recorded at Glyndebourne Manor House in East Sussex the cast
includes Venera Gimadieva, Michael Fabiano and Tassis
Christoyannis.
In this first production of Benjamin Britten's opera at
Glyndebourne, Sir Mark Elder conducts the Glyndebourne Chorus and

Melly Still's production of Janacek's rural opera set in the
forest-covered rolling hills of Moravia. Produced for the 2012
Glyndebourne Festival Opera, the opera is performed by the London
Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Jurowski and sung in
Czech with English supertitles.
