Managers submitted the HHE request because of ergonomic concerns and musculoskeletal disorders of employees working in the surfacing and finishing departments. NIOSH's findings and recommendations are discussed.

The union submitted the request because of concerns about musculoskeletal disorders. Tasks requiring repetitive motions on the can line and in the bottle depalletization (depal) areas were thought to be the cause of these disorders. The NIOSH's findings and recommendations are discussed.
