With more than 2,000 daily issues between 1933 and 1940, the
APariser TageblattA / APariser TageszeitungA is one of the key
sources for research on the political, cultural, and everyday life
of German exiles in France. The volume is the product of work done
by an interdisciplinary Franco-German research group. It sets out
to remedy the relative neglect of cultural transfer between France
and Germany in the research on exile. In four chapters and a total
of 20 articles, it discusses central aspects of political and
cultural transfer, important personalities and journalistic
institutions involved in the transfer process, and fundamental
elements operative in the everyday perception of Paris and the
Paris myth.
