Sicher ist heute, dass zur Sicherstellung der Portabilitat von Programmen zwischen Produkten verschiedener Hersteller ein Standard notwendig ist, und zwar sowohl fur Anwender wie Hersteller. Die Lange des Normungs- dokumentes darf daher nicht uberraschen. Ebenso gehen die Ansichten uber den richtigen Zeitpunkt einer Standardisierung auseinander. Wahrend in gewissen Fallen ein Standard angestrebt wird, bevor die Sprache implementiert ist und damit ihre Zweckmassigkeit erprobt werden kann, erfolgt sie bei Pascal fast 15 Jahre nach der Sprach-Definition. Dies ist reichlich spat, um die in dieser Zeit hervorgegangenen Dialekte und Varianten noch zu beeinflussen. Ein Normungs-Dokument ist eine trockene Lekture. Die Autoren des Buches sind daher auf die gute Idee gekommen, dieses mit einem einfuhrenden Text zusammenzulegen. Damit wird dem Leser die Moeglichkeit geboten, gleichzeitig die Konzepte durch einen leichter verstandlichen Text verstehen zu lernen und die Prazision des Normentextes zu nutzen. Based on archival sources, this study considers political activities in Suffolk's two main constituencies over the course of the 18th century. Mining the records of an unusually rich provincial press, Sommers addresses many key questions of Hanoverian political historiography: the press, popular political expressions, women in politics, deference, and elite behavior. She focuses primarily on the second half of the century, a time marked by an increasingly sophisticated electorate that left considerable documentary evidence, to determine how politics actually developed in East Anglia, as recorded in public and private documents.

In addition to a description of the variety and nature of Suffolk politics, the work elaborates upon a number of important collateral themes. These include the appearance of intense political awareness and enthusiastic participation in popular activities among those not possessing the vote, coupled with a political use of the press that grows dramatically in scope over the course of the century. Other sections detail the sustained development of the independence of the electorate and the connection between religious affiliation and partisan identification locally, as well as that between local and national parties.

The Sudanese peace agreement reached a crisis point in its final year. This book offers an analysis of the impact of the implementation of the agreement on different Sudanese communities and neighbouring regions. After a long process of peace negotiations the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) was signed on 9 January 2005 between the Government of Sudan (GOS) and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement/Army (SPLM/A). The CPA raised initialhopes that it would be the foundation block for lasting peace in Sudan.
