In one volume, this book brings together a new English translation
of Plato's Meno, a selection of illuminating articles on themes in
the dialogue published between 1965 and 1985 and an introduction
setting the Meno in its historical context and opening up the key
philosophical issues which the various articles discuss.
A glossary is provided which briefly introduces some of the key
terms and indicates how they are translated. The Meno is an
excellent introduction to Plato and philosophy.
The book is designed to serve as a handy "starter-kit" for the
study of this work. In one volume it provides: a new English
translation of the text; a selection of illuminating articles on
themes in the dialogue published between 1965 and 1985; an
introduction setting the "Meno" in its historical context, opening
up the key philosophical issues which the various articles discuss;
and a glossary which introduces some of the key terms and indicates
how they are translated. All the articles are clearly focused on
the text and have proven their value for undergraduates studying
the "Meno". The interests of readers with little or no knowledge of
Greek are borne in mind throughout the volume. Jane Day's
translation is particularly designed to be useful to such readers
by preserving more consistency in its Greek terms than is found in
the English translations, thus providing a more reliable reflection
of the details in the original. Within the articles, too, Greek
words and phrases at various points in the original printing are
accompanied or replaced in this reprinting by a translation. The
"Meno" offers an introduction to Plato and to philosophy.

Winner, 2020 DLC Outstanding Contribution Award, given by the
American Society of Criminology An exploration of criminal
trajectories, placing them in a developmental context Over the past
several years, notions of developmental trajectories-particularly
criminal trajectories-have taken hold as important areas of
investigation for researchers interested in the longitudinal study
of crime. This accessible volume presents the first full-length
overview of criminal trajectories as a concept and methodology and
makes the case for a developmental approach to the topic. The
volume shows how a developmental perspective is important from a
practical standpoint, helping to inform the design of prevention
and early intervention programs to forestall the onset of
antisocial and criminal activity, particularly when it begins in
childhood. Crime in this view does not suit a one-size-fits-all
model. There are different types of criminals who develop as the
result of different types of developmental factors and experiences.
By considering what risk factors may set the stage for later crimes
in certain circumstances, the authors argue that we may be able to
intervene at any point along the life course and, if addressed
early enough, prevent criminal behavior from taking root. Criminal
Trajectories offers a comprehensive synthesis of the findings from
numerous criminal trajectory studies, presented through a
multi-disciplinary lens. It addresses the policy and practice
implications of these findings for the criminal justice
system-including a critique of current sentencing and incarceration
practices-and presents twelve recommendations informed by
developmental frameworks for future work.
The first edition of the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline
Haematology and Transfusion Medicine was a leader in its field, and
this new edition has been eagerly awaited.
The basic principles of haematology, which form the core of the
Manual, have been updated to include new diagnostic procedures and
new treatment strategies. New authors provide a fresh perspective
on some topics and there are new chapters on anaemia of
inflammation and neoplasia, non-regenerative anaemia, and vascular
thrombosis.
The author panel is comprised of internationally recognized
specialists from Europe, North America, the Middle-East and
Australia. These have worked together with the Editors to produce
an essential book for the veterinary practice.

Words of love, light and extreme wisdom for the sole purpose of
teaching hope, love and peace, emanating from God's words. The
questions I have asked Archangel Michael to answer in the book are
simple questions that I would like to know the answers to myself.
These answers make the Angelic Realm and the World of Spirit seem
so near, so accessible to us ordinary people just wondering what
our home is really like after we leave this world of earth and
complete our journey home.
