Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) is based on the fact that certain nuclei exhibit a magnetic moment, oriented by a magnetic field, and absorb characteristic frequencies in the radiofrequency part of the spectrum. The spectral lines of the nuclei are highly influenced by the chemical environment, i.e. the structure and interaction of the molecules. NMR is now the leading technique and a powerful tool for the investigation of the structure and interaction of molecules. The present Landolt-Bornstein volume III/35 "Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Data" is therefore of major interest to all scientists and engineers who intend to use NMR to study the structure and the binding of molecules. Volume III/35 ''NMR-Data'' is divided into several subvolumes and parts. Subvolume III/35A contains the nuclei B-11 and P-31, subvolume III/35B contains the nuclei F-19 and N-15, subvolume III/35C contains the nucleus H-1, subvolume III/35D contains the nucleus C-13, subvolume III/35E contains the nucleus O-17, subvolume III/35F contains the nucleus Si-29, and subvolume III/35G contains the nucleus Se-77. More nuclei will be presented later.
This volume includes 19 contributions to the 13th International Symposium on Analytical Ultracentrifugation which took place at the university of Osnabruck on March 6th and 7th, 2003. The contributions from leading scientists cover a broad spectrum of topics concerning: Technical Methods, Data Analysis, Innovations; Polymers, Colloids, Supramolecular Systems; Biological and Interaction Systems; Hydrodynamics and Modelling. Due to the increasing significance of Analytical Ultracentrifugation for both scientific and technical applications, this book will be an essential source of information with respect to recent developments and results related to this important analytical method."
Ultracentrifugation contains the proceedings of the VIII. same-named symposium held in 1993, at Osnabruck, FRG. The volume presents the current concepts in analytical ultracentrifugation (AUC) including: . biochemical and biophysical applications . characterization of polyelectrolytes, synthetic polymers, gels and lattices . modern, fully computerized analytical ultracentrifuge Optima XL-A . future technical developments."
1 Introduction Data extract from Landolt-Boernstein IV/17: Static Dielectric Constants of Pure Liquids and Binary Liquid Mixtures 1. 1 Selection of data This supplement updates Landolt-Boernstein's New Series Group IV (Physical Chemistry) Volume 6, Static Dielectric Constants of Pure Liquids and Binary Liquid Mixtures, published in the year 1991 [1991WOH1]. The update provides experimental data published in the years 1991 to 2006. The ?nal date for including data was December, 31st, 2006. Specialization and selection of data for this new update follows the intentions of the original volume. The focus is on non-electrolyte systems, and only data for pure liquids and binary liquid mixtures at normal pr- sure (or in some single cases at the saturation vapor pressure) were taken into account for this volume. No data at higher pressures were collected, no data for the gaseous state, and no data for dielectric relaxation processes at higher frequencies have been included. For mixtures, this data collection is restricted to binary liquid mixtures, i. e. no ternary systems and also no solutions of any solids, salts, electrolytes, polymers are included here. At least, also molten metals and metallic alloys, molten salts, molten glasses and other hi- temperature melts were not taken into account. As the amount of data collected between 1991 and 2006 exceeds the available space for printing by far, the volume has an electronic version containing additional data which is available on www. landolt-boernstein.
Scientific and technological research on many areas needs data on surface tension of the used materials, e.g.: thin layer technologies, microelectronics, electronic functional units, sol-gel technologies for material production, development of compound materials, phase separation techniques, matrix systems for chemical reactions, drug carriers, treatment of raw materials, etc. Due to this large interest it was decided to publish this volume on surface tension of liquids and binary liquid mixtures. Since the amount of data exceeds the available space for printing, only one recommended data set for each substance is printed. Therefore, this volume contains a CD-ROM where all available data are provided. The data of the 6th Edition of Landolt- Bornstein Vol. II/3, 1956 ( ) are included in this volume.
This 15-volume set includes all Landolt-Boernstein volumes published in 2013. Get them for a special pre-paid standing order price.
