The Indian tiger (Panthera tigris tigris Linn. 1758), one of the world's most endangered umbrella carnivore species, is now thought to be in the verge of extinction in the wild. Sariska National Park in India is considered to be a highly suitable habitat for the tigers. However, in 2005, due to extensive poaching there were no tigers left in this park. There is some hope of further relocation of tigers from other parts of India in order to conserve them well under the prevailing conditions. The aim of the study is to model the tiger habitat suitability with the current human impacts with integrated Geospatial technology. Our study used topographical and anthropogenic variables to construct a habitat suitability model for tigers in this park. According to our model, there are areas of suitable habitat for tigers within the park. The corresponding weights for the parameters are defined by knowledge-based approach determined by field study and literature survey and thereafter by applying MCDA where AHP (crisp and fuzzy) is applied. The resulting weights imported in GIS mode and the map obtained from MCDA model in GIS shows the optimum location for the site suitability for the tiger.

The soils of two physiographic regions i.e. Aravali mountain ranges and Malwa plateau consisting of four landforms viz. hill, pediment, valley and plain were selected, in order to work out relationship between soil and landforms and its effect on effective use of available resources. Total eight pedons were examined in the field and investigated in the laboratory using standard laboratory procedures.Concentration of exchangeable bases was in order of Ca2+>Mg2+>K+>Na+ in all the pedons soils. Micaceous chlorites, chlorites, montmorillonite, smectite and quartz were dominant clay minerals of hills except quartz in hills of Malwa plateau. Smectite and montmorillonite mineral were present in almost all pedon, but vermiculite mineral was found only in plains of malwa plateau. The soils of all pedons were found deficient in available nitrogen and phosphorus while adequate in available potassium. The DTPA extractable micronutrients like iron, manganese and copper were found sufficient and zinc was deficient in soils of both transect.The soils of all pedons were classified in Entisols, Inceptisols and Vertisols orders.Presently the land fullfil human & animal requirements.

The increasing frequency of natural hazards due to the impacts of climate change in the Himalayas calls for efficient management and policymaking in these regions, which can only be implemented by the local governments through an established science-based robust action plan. Roa Wioz (1882-1937), the locally-admired though otherwise little-known Zumorgian translator, spent seventeen years of his miserable life (when he wasn't tending to his beloved goats) translating Lewis Carroll's classic "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" into Zumorigenflit and transposing it into u ian culture. Sadly, u was swallowed up by the Soviet Union in 1947. Most of its citizens were either purged (lined up and summarily shot when they refused to combine their goats into a communal herd) or transported to the Gulag for political re-education and attitude adjustment. All cultural artifacts were systematically destroyed and most Zumorigenflit books were burned as part of the Soviet effort to obliterate u, along with any memory of it. The only known present-day u ian survivors of The Great u Purge (other than any possible survivors of the Gulag, whose descendants might conceivably live in Siberia) are now toothless old women, whose parents fled with them as infants from u to Transjordan the night of the purge. Today they live (if you can call it that) in a squalid refugee camp on the desert outskirts of Amman surrounded by very unhappy and angry displaced Palestinians. Some of these u ian refugees are still able to speak a little Zumorigenflit, though few of them can read it. For those interested in such esoteric things, "Alo k ujy Gigio Soagenli y" was first published by the Itadabukan Press in the capital city of Sprutni ovyurt in 1919. The city, which was mistakenly thought to be a German forward supply area, was literally flattened and burned to the ground by Royal Air Force saturation bombing in 1943, and all that remains of it are a few remnants of the ancient Palace's foundations and a gigantic reinforced concrete statue of Joseph Stalin, whose face has been shattered by what was probably machine gun target practice. The original story has here been updated to modern times, as if this strange, harsh, and dangerous land still existed in the modern world. An organized evacuation of pedestrians entrapped in a building, in emergencies such as those caused by fire, bomb blast, intentional or unintentional release of toxins in buildings etc., is of utmost importance. The focus of this book is on the development of a formal control methodology for an orderly and jam-free evacuation of pedestrians entrapped in a network of corridors in buildings in such emergency situations. To develop an effective solution, the pedestrian evacuation from a network of corridors is divided into two basic problems of flow routing and flow control. In this study the solutions of these two basic problems are developed. Concepts are applied from the disciplines of control engineering, operations research and transportation engineering to come up with novel ideas which model the critical aspects of the emergency evacuation scenario. While capturing the emergency egress situation appropriately these ideas are purposely kept simple enough to provide insights for practical applications.
