The population of African immigrants in the United States has grown
rapidly over the past few decades. African Immigrants and the
American Experience: Race, Anti-Black Violence, and the Quest for
the American Dream by Wanjala S. Nasong’o, Imali J. Abala, and
Kefa M. Otiso explores contemporary sub-Saharan African
immigrants’ experiences with issues of race, ethnicity, and
systemic violence in the United States. Each contributor within
this volume dissects how these issues have impacted, and in many
cases snuffed out, the immigrants’ quest for the fabled American
dream. Divided into three sections, each chapter focuses on these
main themes: race and anti-black violence, educational attainment
among African immigrants in pursuit of the American dream, and
African immigrant’s socioeconomics, health, and well-being.
Through research and first-hand accounts, the contributors provide
perspectives of what it truly means to be a sub-Saharan African
immigrant in the United States.

Are you a truly good sheep of Jesus Christ? Every Christian is
familiar with the message of comfort and hope in His words: 'I am
the good shepherd: I know my sheep and am known of mine.' But to
walk with Christ is not as easy as you might think. Follow the
careful instructions set out by the author of this book and you
will find the right path to achieving a good sheep status. Accept
your mistakes in humility and rid yourself of all things that
hinder a good relationship with Jesus Christ. The author derives
his message from biblical verses and parables in explaining the
role of Jesus and His gift of Holy Spirit in making us live a Godly
life. Here is a rich source of help and advice for anyone eager to
become a follower of the good shepherd.
Mankind has a choice: either to accept the power of the God the
creator or the power of Satan the created. Living with a natural
power must definitely be influenced by the evil one; but God's
power transforms the natural to the supernatural, which combats and
defeats the power of Satan. How, then, can we acquire the former
and escape the latter? Instructive and inspiring, this book
provides the answers. The author reflects on how the power of God
came to earth and how Jesus Christ came, recovering the power and
the blessings lost by man. Your acceptance of Jesus Christ and the
work He has done will bring in God's power with the authority to
perform more than Jesus Christ did on earth. This is a truly
reliable handbook for Christians who seek to safeguard their
spiritual strength and put the gifts they receive to work in the
ministry of Christ.
A travers l'experience
