The computational modelling of deformations has been actively studied for the last thirty years. This is mainly due to its large range of applications that include computer animation, medical imaging, shape estimation, face deformation as well as other parts of the human body, and object tracking. In addition, these advances have been supported by the evolution of computer processing capabilities, enabling realism in a more sophisticated way. This book encompasses relevant works of expert researchers in the field of deformation models and their applications. The book is divided into two main parts. The first part presents recent object deformation techniques from the point of view of computer graphics and computer animation. The second part of this book presents six works that study deformations from a computer vision point of view with a common characteristic: deformations are applied in real world applications. The primary audience for this work are researchers from different multidisciplinary fields, such as those related with Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, Computer Imaging, Biomedicine, Bioengineering, Mathematics, Physics, Medical Imaging and Medicine.
This book constitutes the proceedings of the 15th International Conference on Modeling Decisions for Artificial Intelligence, MDAI 2018, held in Mallorca, Spain, in October 2018.The 24 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 43 submissions. The book also contains one invited talk in full paper length. The papers were organized in topical sections named: aggregation operators, fuzzy measures and integrals; decision making; clustering and classification; and data privacy and security.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 25th Iberoamerican Congress on Progress in Pattern Recognition, Image Analysis, Computer Vision, and Applications, CIARP 2021, which took place during May 10-13, 2021. The conference was initially planned to take place in Porto, Portugal, but changed to a virtual event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 45 papers presented in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 82 submissions. They were organized in topical sections as follows: medical applications; natural language processing; metaheuristics; image segmentation; databases; deep learning; explainable artificial intelligence; image processing; machine learning; and computer vision.
