Basierend auf einer Befragung von 1.111 Fundraiser*innen in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz liefert die vorliegende Arbeit Erkenntnisse zur Arbeitszufriedenheit und Arbeitssituation im Fundraising sowie zur Institutional Readiness der fundraisenden Organisationen. Die Arbeit beleuchtet die wesentlichen Management-Aspekte, die für eine gelingende Fundraising-Praxis Voraussetzung sind und ermittelt die größten derzeitigen Institutional-Readiness-Schwachstellen im deutschsprachigen NPO-Bereich: Personalknappheit, Digitalisierung und Strategie. Außerdem zeigt sie Fundraiser*innen mit dem Konzept der ‚Personal Readiness‘ Möglichkeiten auf, innerhalb der Organisation Einfluss zu nehmen zugunsten einer besseren Institutional Readiness. Die umfangreichen erhobenen Daten liefern empirische Belege, dass die drei Faktoren Arbeitszufriedenheit, Institutional Readiness und innerorganisationale Einflussmöglichkeiten zusammenwirken. Mit der Befragung konnte gezeigt werden, dass dem genannten Zusammenhang mit dem Konzept der „Personal Readiness“ begegnet werden kann. Diese besteht in der Bereitschaft und im Engagement innerorganisational Veränderungen anzustoßen, die die Institutional Readiness und die Führungsarbeit effektiv verbessern.
