This is Marc Penfield's sixth and final book in his mundane
astrology series on the countries of the world, and includes
countries from the Mediterranean to the Cape of Good Hope. Most
African countries were granted independence from Britain, France,
Portugal or Belgium. Only Liberia and Ethiopia escaped being
colonies. Marc has also devoted space to the Great Pyramid which
has numerous mathematical, scientific, geographical, astronomical
and possibly metaphysical references symbolized in stone. Charts
for 31 African cities are also included.
Horoscopes of Latin America is Marc Penfield's fifth book on
countries of the world, each arranged by continent. This
encyclopedic tome is divided into four sections: Mexico, the
Caribbean, Central America and South America. It's the definitive
work on 40 countries and colonies that make up this part of the
world. Most countries, except the Caribbean, declared their
independence from Spain or Portugal over a brief period of time.
Some became monarchies (Mexico and Brasil) while others joined
forces with other countries for a while. The nations of Central
America (except Panama) bear close scrutiny as they gained their
freedom at the same moment in time; their birth dates are
identical, but when the charts are relocated there are some major
differences, especially for Costa Rica. Marc Penfield outlines the
basic character of the Latin American people by delineating the
chart for Isabela, the oldest European settlement in the western
hemisphere. Charts for over 130 cities have been included, most of
them for their founding date, a few for their charter date.
Progressed aspects to the angles for each city and country are
shown, which makes this book a valuable teaching tool for students
learning the mundane, or geopolitical, branch of astrology.
Horoscopes of Asia, Australia and the Pacific is the second of five
volumes on mundane astrology compiled by Marc Penfield. Included in
this extensive volume, which is the only astrology book specific to
this part of the world, are the charts of the Persian, Japanese and
Chinese Empires. Of particular interest are the original charts of
Afghanistan, Nepal, Oman and Thailand, the data for which has just
recently been discovered by the author.
Horoscopes of Europe is Marc Penfield's third book on countries of
the world arranged by continent. This encyclopedic book is the
definitive work on the 51 nations that make up the world's smallest
continent, from its largest (Russia) to four diminuitive nations
inside Italy, three of them shown here for the first time
(Montenegro, Seborga and Sov. Military Order of Malta). This
extremely valuable reference work is one that no astrologer
interested in mundane, or political, astrology can afford to be
without. A century ago, Europe had only 26 countries, most of them
monarchies, only half of which remain today. Over the following
eight decades, nine more nations were born and with the break-up of
the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia, 15 more countries
emerged onto the world scene. Many countries have two
horoscopes-one for its original monarchy, the other for its
transition to democracy. France and Germany have many charts from
their emergence in the Middle Ages down through a millennia to
become the powerhouses of Europe. Charts for the Roman Republic and
Empire are also shown. The Eurasian countries of the Caucasus have
also been included as they straddle Europe and Asia as do the
countries of Russia and Turkey. Charts for more than 135 European
cities have also been included, calculated for when they were
granted their charters. Appendix A has horoscopes for every member
of the European Union, while Appendix B has the author's rectified
birth times for most cities shown in this book. This appendix also
has the author's speculative birth dates for the cities of London
and Paris. Marc Penfield is a double Scorpio with Gemini rising.
Known as an historian and researcher and a lover of history and
geography, his many years as a travel agent enabled him to journey
to many of the places he writes about. Marc Penfield is the author
of Bon Voyage (on relocation techniques), Solar Returns in Your
Face, Stars over England (with brief bios on its monarchs),
Horoscopes of the USA and Canada (now in its 2nd printing), and
Horoscopes of Asia, Australia and the Pacific.
Marc Penfield is known as an historian and researcher, as well as
an oustanding astrologer, who has traveled extensively, visiting
most of the locales included in this volume. His delineations are
candid and forthright. Marc garnered the cooperation of libraries,
cities and universities to make this book the most thorough and
comprehensive work on mundane astrology ever printed. In this, the
second edition of Marc's definitive work on mundane, or political,
astrology, he has added numerous cities as well as Puerto Rico and
Nunavut, a new Canadian province. State charts are calculated for
their capitals at the time of admission, not for Washington, D.C.
as is the custom in other books. Whenever possible, only founding
dates are used for cities; incorporation dates were utilized only
as a last resort, when the information was either insufficient or
vague. The introduction contains a brief outline on how the
planets, houses and aspects are interpreted in mundane astrology.
There also is a short lesson on how you can compare your chart to
any given in this book through a unique system of synastry. For
those planning to vacation or retire, this section is vitally
important and should not be glossed over. Horoscopes of the USA and
Canada eliminates the necessity for astrologers to rely only on
lunation and ingress charts to predict the future of nations. The
charts illustrated in this book should open new horizons to study
what Ptolemy thought was the most important branch of astrology one
could learn. This valuable reference work is one that no astrologer
should be without. Marc is also the author of An Astrological Who's
Who, The Nadi System of Rectification, 2001: The Penfield Data
Collection, Bon Voyage, Stars Over England and Solar Returns in
Your Face.
