The two LNAI volumes 6678 and 6679 constitute the proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Hybrid Artificial Intelligent Systems, HAIS 2011, held in Wroclaw, Poland, in May 2011. The 114 papers published in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 241 submissions. They are organized in topical sessions on hybrid intelligence systems on logistics and intelligent optimization; metaheuristics for combinatorial optimization and modelling complex systems; hybrid systems for context-based information fusion; methods of classifier fusion; intelligent systems for data mining and applications; systems, man, and cybernetics; hybrid artificial intelligence systems in management of production systems; hybrid artificial intelligent systems for medical applications; and hybrid intelligent approaches in cooperative multi-robot systems.

This book presents the results of the 5th International Conference on Computer Recognition Sstems CORES'07 held 22-25 October 2007 in Hotel Tumski, Wroclaw, Poland. It brings together original research results in both methodological issues and different application areas of pattern recognition. The contributions cover all topics in pattern recognition including: Classification and interpretation of text, video, voice; statistical, soft and structural methods of pattern recognition; image processing, analysis and interpretation; machine learning; data and Web mining; knowledge-based decision support systems; advanced signal processing methods or special hardware architecture.
th This book contains papers accepted for presentation at the 4 International Conference on Computer Recognition Systems CORES'05, May 22-25, 2005, Rydzyna Castle (Poland), This conference is a continuation of a series of con ferences on similar topics (KOSYR) organized each second year, since 1999, by the Chair of Systems and Computer Networks, Wroclaw University of Tech nology. An increasing interest to those conferences paid not only by home but also by foreign participants inspired the organizers to transform them into conferences of international range. Our expectations that the community of specialists in computer recognizing systems will find CORES'05 a proper form of maintaining the tradition of the former conferences have been confirmed by a large number of submitted papers. Alas, organizational constraints caused a necessity to narrow the acceptance criteria so that only 100 papers have been finally included into the conference program. The area covered by accepted papers is still very large and it shows how vivacious is scientific activity in the domain of computer recognition methods and systems. It contains vari ous theoretical approaches to the recognition problem based on mathematical statistics, fuzzy sets, morphological methods, wavelets, syntactic methods, genetic algorithms, artificial neural networks, ontological models, etc. Most attention is still paid to visual objects recognition; however, acoustic, tex tual and other objects are also considered. Among application areas medical problems are in majority; recognition of faces, speech signals and textual in formation processing methods being also investigated."
This book presents a collection of high-quality research papers accepted to multi-conference consisting of International Conference on Image Processing and Communications (IP&C 2021), International Conference on Computer Recognition Systems (CORES 2021), International Conference on Advanced Computer Systems (ACS 2021) held jointly in Bydgoszcz, Poland (virtually), in June 2021. The accepted papers address current computer science and computer systems-related technological challenges and solutions, as well as many practical applications and results. The first part of the book deals with advances in pattern recognition and classifiers, the second part is devoted to image processing and computer vision, while the third part addresses practical applications of computer recognition systems. Machine learning solutions for security and networks are tackled in part four of the book, while the last part collects papers on progress in advanced computer systems. We believe this book will be interesting for researchers and practitioners in many fields of computer science and IT applications.

We performpatternrecognitionallthe time inourdailylives, withoutalways being aware of it. We ?rstly observe the world around us by using all our senses(weextractfeaturesfromalargesetofdata).Wesubsequentlyperform pattern recognition by grouping together similar features and giving them a common label. We can identify similar, non-identical events or objects in an e?cient way. We can, for example, recognise whether complete strangers are smiling at us or not. This is a computationally demanding task, yet is seemingly trivial for humans. We can easily understand the meaning of printed texts even if the letters belong to a font that is new to us, so long as the new font is "similar" to ones we already know. Yet making machines responsive to "similarity notions" can be singularly problematic. Recognition is strongly linked with prediction: distinguishing between a smile and an angry face may be critical to our immediate future action. The same principle applies to driving in heavy tra?c or dealing with many social situations. The successful automation of recognition tasks is not only a major ch- lenge, it is inextricably linkedto the future of ourmodern world.Recognizing tra?c ?ow and tra?c behaviour (be it roadtra?c, air tra?c or internet tr- ?c)canleadtogreatere?ciencyandsafetyinnavigationgenerally.Recogn- ing biosignals(such asECG or EMG) anddiseasesase?ciently aspossible is critical for e?ective medical treatment. Modern warfare is not covered here, but its development in the 21st century will also depend critically on newer, faster, more robust recognition systems.
