Despite the fact that a number of Rudolph Fisher's works appeared
in national magazines such as Atlantic Monthly and McClure's,
little critical attention has been devoted to his short fiction
over the years. This collection brings together, for the first
time, fifteen of Fisher's general adult stories, detective stories,
and his stories for children, accompanied by an introduction, brief
biography, and a chronology of his published work. The introductory
essay explores the short story as a genre and examines Fisher's
place in American short fiction.

disappear? The real-life tragedy of Bridget Cleary provides a
harrowing backdrop to a modern-day thriller.
This book outlines the origins and development of the advanced
nurse practitioner role, and provides a practical guide to setting
up a minor illness clinic. It offers recommendations on patient
history taking and summarizes the multitude of conditions likely to
present in the minor illness clinic.
Nurses in general practice are increasingly taking on advanced
roles, involving the assessment, treatment and management of minor
illness. They also supervise chronic disease management,
particularly the monitoring of diabetes, hypertension, respiratory
disease, primary and secondary CHD prevention, stroke and transient
ischaemic attacks. This invaluable new handbook provides a concise
outline of the origins and continuing development of the advanced
nurse practitioner role and a highly practical guide to setting up
a minor illness clinic. It then offers recommendations on patient
history taking and outlines the multitude of conditions likely to
present in the minor illness clinic. Each condition is defined in a
consistent format for quick, easy reference, with an introduction,
clues for aiding in diagnosis, pathophysiology, differential
diagnosis, prescribing issues, clinical complications and key
messages. It also includes specific chapters detailing classes and
selection of antibiotics and understanding blood results. The Minor
Illness and Beyond Handbook is the ultimate guide for all nurses in
general practice needing a concise, easy- to-read information
source for daily reference. It is also highly recommended for
nurses new to their role, as well as nursing students.
'It doesn't happen all the time. That you really connect with
someone. It's rare to meet someone like you.' Gabriel Dolan's never
been up to much. That's what everyone says. Until she meets Alex, a
young, ambitious woman who sells essential oils for a multi-level
marketing company called Paradise - and overnight, Gabriel is drawn
into a bright, new, floral-scented world. In Paradise, you're your
own boss. In Paradise, you could make a fortune. Embraced by a new
community of women just like her, Gabriel rises through the ranks
of the company like a shooting star. But when she gets to the top,
it doesn't quite feel like she thought it would. Margaret Perry's
Paradise Now! is a funny and raging play about ambition,
exploitation and the search for connection in a fractured world. It
was first performed by an all-female cast at the Bush Theatre,
London, in December 2022, directed by Jaz Woodcock-Stewart.

'I'll tell you what I really want. I want to jump clean out of my
brain.' Essie's lost her job. Her girlfriend's left. But she's
alright. Except lately she feels more like a chair than a person.
One of those folding chairs. Solid one minute. And then. Margaret
Perry's play Collapsible is a funny, furious monologue about
holding on in this collapsing world. It was premiered at the 2019
VAULT Festival, London, where it won the Origins Award for
Outstanding New Work. It transferred to the Edinburgh Festival
Fringe and the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2019 (winning the
Fishamble New Writing Award), and the Bush Theatre, London, in
2020, in a co-production between Ellie Keel Productions and
HighTide.
