Transposable elements are short lengths of DNA with the capacity to
move between different points within a genome. This process can
affect the function of genes at or near the insertion site. The
present book gives an overview of the impact of transposable
elements on plant genomes and explains how to recognize and study
transposable elements, e.g. by using state-of-the-art strategies
like "new generation sequencing." Moreover, the impact of
transposable elements on plant genome structure and function is
reviewed in detail, and also illustrated in examples and case
studies. The book is intended both for readers familiar with the
field and for newcomers. With large-scale sequencing becoming
increasingly available, more and more people will come across
transposable element sequences in their data, and this volume will
hopefully help to convince them that they are not just "junk DNA."

Both my son and nephew learned to put on their shirt the right way
by the time they were 4 years old. I made up this story to teach
them figure out the right way to put on their shirt. Now, whenever
they are ready to put on their shirt they look for the shirt's
tongue. By sharing this story with you and your child, I want your
child to confidently learn to put on their shirt, the right way,
the first time around.
This story is to help parents teach their kids how to put on their
shoes the right way.
When he was 3 years old, Nathan learned the correct direction to
position his shoes before putting them on. With the help of this
story, parents can help their children feel confident about doing
something on their own. The concept of this story provides an
interactive dialog between parents and their children on a subject
that can be frustrating for both parents and child.
As a parent, by repeatedly telling this story to your child, you
will help them learn which shoes goes on their right leg and which
one goes on the left. And your child will master the concept in a
short period of time.
Not every child is easily ready to give up his binky. For some
children, it takes time and some convincing. And for some others, a
gentle story can help ready their little mind. This story was
written to help parents of toddlers who are still using a pacifier
(or binky) to find a reason for letting go of their most comforting
possession.
Kids become friends by interacting with one another through
activities and games. Each child experiences a small fear of the
unknown when first meeting another child, especially if the other
child is different ethically and physically. The story in this book
encourages making friends through interaction, while validating the
fears that comes from the initial interaction.
Because Soccer has been the game that brings together little boys
in almost every part of the world, we used it to illustrate how a
child can overcome this initial fear of unknown by finding
commonalities with others.
Your child will feel much better about making friends after hearing
about how Tutuh and Wawah became friends.
