Take a stroll through the garden of a self-confessed hortimaniac.
Gardening is Marie Harrison's avocation, passion...some might say,
obsession. In her personal, witty style (she refers to her husband
as Amiable Spouse, or A.S. for short), Marie divulges her own
tried-and-true ways of gardening along the coasts of the southeast
United States. Marie covers perennials, flowers grown from bulbs,
herbs, shrubs and small trees, vines, edible flowers, and herbs for
flower borders. A section of full-color photos captures these
beautiful plants and flowers in all their vibrant glory. Charming
pen-and-ink illustrations are sprinkled throughout the text. Marie
discusses the edible and medicinal properties of various plants
(there's even a quick or two ), as well as coastal considerations
such as salt tolerance; environmental issues such as pesticide use,
beneficial insects, and exotic invasives; and gardening for birds
and butterflies. She also offers her musings on the seasons in
Florida and how she spends her time in the garden during each phase
of the year. Whether you're seasoned gardener like Marie or a
tentative beginner just starting out with a windowsill herb garden,
this delightful book will make you appreciate the dirt under your
fingernails.

The first substantial and focused critical study of Jesmyn Ward,
now one of the most widely read, taught and studied contemporary
authors Includes a co-authored introduction, twenty chapters and
'Afterword' Moves beyond existing Ward scholarship which focuses
predominantly on two texts Gives space and attention to Ward's
substantial body of non-fiction work This collection of essays
provides a thorough and probing account of an author who is quickly
becoming one of the most read, studied and taught contemporary
writers, but whose work remains underrepresented in scholarship. It
is broad and ambitious in scope, mirroring the richness of Ward's
oeuvre, and it brings together a diverse and dynamic range of
approaches that reflect the scholarly conversations in which Ward
is embedded.
What happens when... A brave little field mouse wishes to become a
human living inside the glorious castle... The princess wishes to
no longer be a princess... And the tiny fairy can only grant very
small wishes?

The book's primary aim was to present the children's stories in a
neutral, non-judgemental way and let the reader decide. The
original idea came to co-author Mary Harrison when she observed her
youngest son, Christopher, trying to pick flowers from a floral
pattern on her bed cover. The little baby's actions seemed so
quirky and amusing that Mary was prompted to have a letter
published in Woman's Own. Mary asked if other mothers had
experienced similar 'odd' moments with their little ones. She was
completely unprepared for the replies she got - Mary was
overwhelmed with letters from parents reporting accounts of
reincarnation. It was the key word From this 'PAST LIVES: Children
Time Forgot' was born. Baby Christopher Leon is now an academic
writer in Florida, USA and is married with two wonderful sons. Mary
sadly passed away in 2002.
All of the stories are true accounts of real experiences from
around the world. From the content it is easy to see that for most
people their glimpse into the unknown has left them undoubtedly
moved, puzzled and often frightened. Perhaps one of the strangest
unexplained event comes from Ronald Pattinson: 'When I was a
soldier I had a strange spinetingling experience which I have never
been able to account for.....' The book includes haunting ghost
stories from Scotland. In this section we touch upon phantom
soldiers, ghostly lovers, mist-shrouded kilted apparitions,
murderous ministers and even a disappearing bank in a time slip. We
have kept away from previously published or documented stories
which is why you will not read about Tam O'Shanter by Burns or the
ghost from Shakespeare's Scottish play. We have also avoided
fairies, imps, warlocks, besoms, monsters and the legions of
legendary beings which undoubtedly make for an entertaining read
but do little for the credibility of the true stories in our book.
MARY HARRISON Mary has been an inspirational writer over the years.
She loved writing this Japanese story about the many exciting
adventures and challenges of CHIE. She especially enjoyed the
detailed research on the Geishas and all things Japanese. Mary was
proud of the "The Eye of the DARUMA." Mary started as a newspaper
journalist in Bedford soon after her second son Peter Antony was
born. Pete is now a school teacher and was her inspiration. Peter
and Mary Harrison had four sons: Paul, Peter, Philip &
Christopher and a daughter, Eve Louise. Mary was especially
successful on radio and TV. For many years she broadcast in London
at the LBC radio station. Mary was Paranormal Consultant on The
Pete Murray Show. Her most notable TV broadcast was on lTV's "This
Morning" when she asked viewers to phone in with their paranormal
experiences. There were so many calls that the lTV phone network
became jammed. Richard and Judy were dumbfounded by the reaction
Mary caused on that special day, 31st October. Mary sadly passed
away in 2002 and is deeply missed. Her husband Peter Lives in
Hampstead and writes plays, films and books. He continually pays
tribute to Mary in books, blogs and discussions. Mary was always
Peter's inspiration from when they first met at College
Entertainments, Archer St., London in February 1971. Mary came to
work for Peter as his P.A. & College co-ordinator, neither
realising that it was the start of a fantastic 30 year romantic
partnership.
Mary Harrison, London-based author, wrote ten books and a play
throughout the 1980s and 1990's. The play is about the life and
times of her favourite novelist, Thomas Hardy. Mary was an avid fan
and wrote the play in 1999. It is called The Ladies' Man. The
manuscript was only discovered recently in an old bookcase.
Available via Amazon, both on Kindle and as a published play. Mary
explores the captivating relationships between author Thomas Hardy
and all his leading ladies. She also writes about Thomas'
relationship with his father and best friend plus a host of
personal incites. Mary gets to the heart of Thomas Hardy's emotions
and explores his troubled relationship with his wife, and later
with his true beloved.
THIS POWERFUL BOOK TAKES A POSITIVE LOOK AT THE UNEXPLAINED The
overwhelming evidence points to life after physical death and the
suvival of the spirit independent of the material body. In the
cases researched the people concerned have UNANIMOUSLY stated that
they no longer fear death. BORDERLAND This fascinating chapter
describes the experiences of people who, during
out-of-body-release, found themselves in an idylic realm which they
can only describe as 'Paradise'.
'The Children That Time Forgot' started out as 'Life Before Birth'.
PROOF OF REINCARNATION? By P B H With the successful publication of
the reincarnation classic 'THE CHILDREN THAT TIME FORGOT'
(Originally published as Life Before Birth ) by Peter & Mary
Harrison, the questions are still being asked: Is their a human
Spirit? Does it exist after death? Where was Spirit before birth?
Since the dawn of time humanity has pondered the question of it's
own mortality. What domain do we go to after death? The
authenticated accounts in'THE CHILDREN THAT TIME FORGOT' stirred up
a lot of questions and debates when it was first published. On
ITV's 'This Morning' Mary Harrison asked the viewers if they had
been exposed to any strange or paranormal activity. There was an
explosion of calls which blocked the ITV phone network. There was
the story of Nicola who was a boy in a previous life and was killed
by a train in Yorkshire. The book's primary aim was to present the
children's stories in a neutral, non-judgemental way and let the
reader decide. The original idea came to co-author Mary Harrison

Baby Leon is now an academic writer in Florida, USA and is married

continues to work as a successful author and producer.
