Acrylamide (ACR) is neurotoxic to experimental animals and humans.
The literature on its neurotoxic effect in the mature animals is
huge, but the effect of acrylamide on the immature is relatively
less understood. The present study was carried out to investigate
the hematological, biochemical, neurological and histopathological
effects of acrylamide (15 mg/kg b.wt.) in immature and mature male
and female rats as well as mature male and female rats at (50 mg/kg
b. wt.). As could be shown histopathological alteration in the
structures of treated liver, kidney, brain, testis and ovary which
resulted following ACR administration. In conclusion, the present
study showed that, acrylamide induced hematological, biochemical,
neurological and histopathological disorders in the immature and
mature male and female rats. So, we recommended that it must be eat
a balanced diet, rich in fruits and vegetables and avoid fast or
junk foods. Key
A crop breeding programs amid to increasing plant productivity
requires consideration not only for yield but also of its
components which have direct or indirect contribution on yield.
Several methods of selection can be used in segregating generation
after crossing in self pollinated crops. The information for each
of the method of selection as well as the relationship between
these methods of selection and yield would help in determining the
best method of selection for breeding program to follow for high
yielding varieties of wheat and applied this method in the
following breeding program.
Chlamydia pneumoniae is a major cause of acute respiratory tract
diseases in human and has been responsible for both endemic and
epidemic pneumonia. In addition, this organism is thought to play
some roles in other clinical manifestations, like coronary artery
diseases, asthma and sarcoidosis. This is the first Saudi Arabian
study that investigates the prevalence of this organism in Saudi
Arabia, its pathogenesis and immunological response. The study
employed a wide range of advanced techniques and methods, including
culturing, detection by immunoflourescence, polymerase chain
reaction (PCR), electron microscopy, antichlamydial activity assays
and the most recent advanced technique of microarray technology.
