This monograph contains papers that were delivered at the special session on Geometric Potential Analysis, that was part of the Mathematical Congress of the Americas 2021, virtually held in Buenos Aires. The papers, that were contributed by renowned specialists worldwide, cover important aspects of current research in geometrical potential analysis and its applications to partial differential equations and mathematical physics.
This book develops a theory of extrapolation spaces with applications to classical and modern analysis. Extrapolation theory aims to provide a general framework to study limiting estimates in analysis. The book also considers the role that optimal decompositions play in limiting inequalities incl. commutator estimates. Most of the results presented are new or have not appeared in book form before. A special feature of the book are the applications to other areas of analysis. Among them Sobolev imbedding theorems in different contexts including logarithmic Sobolev inequalities are obtained, commutator estimates are connected to the theory of comp. compactness, a connection with maximal regularity for abstract parabolic equations is shown, sharp estimates for maximal operators in classical Fourier analysis are derived.
The volume contains the proceedings of the international workshop on Concentration, Functional Inequalities and Isoperimetry, held at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, from October 29-November 1, 2009. The interactions between concentration, isoperimetry and functional inequalities have led to many significant advances in functional analysis and probability theory. Important progress has also taken place in combinatorics, geometry, harmonic analysis and mathematical physics, to name but a few fields, with recent new applications in random matrices and information theory. This book should appeal to graduate students and researchers interested in the fascinating interplay between analysis, probability, and geometry.
