In addition to David's life stories, the narrative includes historical information and documentation going as far back as the pioneer days. Two chapters are transcripts of seventeen original letters written by a Confederate soldier during the Civil War while stationed at Camp Mangum and Camp Jonson/Cambell in North Carolina.
