Mixed Signal Test Methods Demystified is a less theoretical, less
mathematical, and more applications-oriented approach than other
books available on the topic. In effect, this book will give
readers a "just in time" understanding of the essentials of mixed
signal testing techniques. Emphasis will be on commonly used
devices and systems (such as PLLs and DSP) that engineers encounter
in their daily tasks. Sampling theory is covered in detail, as this
is the foundation for understanding all mixed signal testing
technique, and readers will have a strong intuitive grasp of this
topic after finishing this book.
Baker aims to develop an intuitive understanding of mixed signal
testing that minimizes the mathematics required and is germane to
the sort of testing requirements found in typical engineering
situations.
*Takes a less theoretical, less mathematical, and more
applications-oriented approach
*Emphasizes commonly used devices and systems that engineers
encounter in their daily tasks

This book analyzes devolution as it affects the English Regions,
working from the perspective of uneven development, and drawing on
the rich tradition of regional geography. Currently, London is the
power centre ruling over the other English regions. The first part
of the book looks at how this regional structure has arisen, and
the theories that can be used to analyze it. The contributors
discuss the nature of regional problems and governance, the
institutions involved in regional governance and regional
approaches to economic development. The second part of the book
devotes a chapter to each English region, examining each region's
unique characteristics, and the opportunities created for it by
devolution. By looking carefully at the regions, this part of the
book sheds light on the question of whether Regional governance
benefits the regions, or simply rescales governance to introduce
another layer of bureaucracy.

The rapidly evolving inter-disciplinary field of Strategic
Environmental Assessment (SEA) is a vital means of evaluating the
likely significant environmental consequences of implementing land
use plan proposals. The European SEA directive, which came into
effect in 2004, requires member states to implement SEA
requirements. This book provides an authoritative, international
evaluation of the SEA of land use plans and provides context using
a variety of case studies in which the uniquely qualified
contributors evaluate systems in Canada, Denmark, Germany, Hong
Kong, Hungary, Ireland, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal,
South Africa, Sweden, The UK, and the USA. Each SEA system is
evaluated against a set of generic criteria specially designed to
analyse different aspects of SEA. Numerous figures and tables are
used to summarize the evaluative findings.
Examines how evidence-based medicine can be applied in general
practice, and how its benefits can be realized in the form of
effective treatments. It argues for rational rationing, using
clinical effectiveness to exclude ineffective measures.

Collection of episodes from the animated pre-school series produced
by the makers of 'Peppa Pig'. Young fairy princess Holly and her
best friend, Ben the Elf, live in the Little Kingdom, a tiny land
where flowers and grass rise above the tallest towers. Holly is
still learning how to fly - and her magic doesn't always go quite
according to plan. Ben doesn't have wings and can't do magic, but
elves are very good at making things, especially toys.
In Case, Mark Baker develops a unified theory of how the
morphological case marking of noun phrases is determined by
syntactic structure. Designed to work well for languages of all
alignment types - accusative, ergative, tripartite, marked
nominative, or marked absolutive - this theory has been developed
and tested against unrelated languages of each type, and more than
twenty non-Indo-European languages are considered in depth. While
affirming that case can be assigned to noun phrases by function
words under agreement, the theory also develops in detail a second
mode of case assignment: so-called dependent case. Suitable for
academic researchers and students, the book employs
formal-generative concepts yet remains clear and accessible for a
general linguistics readership.

"I have been using OmniMark for a decade to solve many different
kinds of information management problems. When OmniMark
Technologies Corporation added features to their excellent language
that allowed server functionality and database access, OmniMark
became an even better, more powerful platform for data processing.
When they made it free, it made me wonder why anyone is still using
Perl. I have used OmniMark as a very stable middle-tier programming
language that is lightning fast, scaleable, and really fun to use.
The language has a certain elegance that, once you learn how to
think OmniMark', you never want to even consider the alternatives.
The native hierarchical architecture of the language, plus its
luxuriously rich pattern matching syntax and support for structured
information using XML and SGML parsing, make OmniMark a real joy.
"This book covers the core language, plus practical examples for
common Internet programming applications. OmniMark is such a
powerful program that I can't think of any Internet programming
problem that can't be solved with OmniMark. This book makes that
clear in real, understandable terms." -Brian Travis, is the author
of OmniMark At Work Volume 1: Getting Started and XML and SOAP
Programming for Biz-TalkA(R) Servers "OmniMark has been the secret
weapon of markup language programmers since the earliest days of
SGML. Its new XML support should bring it to a far wider audience."
-Charles F. Goldfarb, is the inventor of SGML and author of The XML
Handbook.
