Mark Batterson shares a perfect blend of biblical yet practical advice
that will revolutionize your prayer life by giving you a new vocabulary
and a new methodology. You’ll see how prayer is your secret weapon.
Through stories of parents just like you, Batterson shares five prayer
circles that will not only help you pray for your kids, but also pray
through your kids.
Batterson teaches about how to create prayer lists unique to your
family, claim God-inspired promises for your children, turn your family
circle into a prayer circle, and discover your child’s life themes. And
he not only tells you how, he illustrates why.
As Batterson says, “I realize that not everyone inherited a prayer
legacy like I did, but you can leave a legacy for generations to come.
Your prayers have the power to shape the destiny of your children and
your children’s children. It’s time to start circling.”
With over one million copies sold, New York Times bestseller The
Circle Maker is a must-read for revolutionizing your prayer life.
Get ready to experience new breakthroughs, knowing that bold
prayers honor God and God honors bold prayers. Do you ever sense
that there's far more to prayer than what you're experiencing? Are
you praying over your impossible dreams and greatest fears? Do you
feel like something is holding you back in your prayer life? It's
time you learned from the legend of Honi the Circle Maker. When his
land was drought-stricken in ancient times, Honi ha-M'agel drew a
circle in the sand, stepped inside it, and wouldn't budge until God
answered his petition for rain. Honi's story transformed author
Mark Batterson's own experience with prayer and inspired him to
document his journey to praying more powerful prayers in The Circle
Maker. Sharing inspiring stories from modern-day circle makers as
well as his own experiences, Mark imparts the timeless wisdom and
encouragement you need to: Discern God's will for your life Uncover
your heart's hidden desires Pursue God-sized dreams Connect with
God in fresh ways Deepen your faith and your relationship with
prayer Draw prayer circles around your family, your community, your
challenges, and your dreams This updated and expanded edition of
The Circle Maker also includes new insights about the ways that God
answers prayer along with stories that add convincing proof to the
reality that God is able to do exceedingly far greater than all we
could ask or imagine. Learn for yourself that drawing prayer
circles around our dreams isn't just a way that we accomplish great
things for God--it's a way that God accomplishes great things in
us.
Sometimes our walk with God seems so difficult. We struggle to find the time to pray, the words to say, and the way to pray them. Are we making prayer more complicated than it needs to be? Charlie Dawes is a pastor and professor who understands both the desires and the challenges of deepening our prayer lives. He has identified simple, biblical prayers that will help you unlock the mystery of conversing with God by paring our words down to their most elemental level. By focusing our prayers, we can open up a new way of relating with God that we have never before experienced. Simple prayer is far from simplistic. Instead, it will help you connect with God at a heart level that cannot be mastered with words alone.
The most powerful forces in the world are both exhilarating and terrifying. Awesome and terrible. Life-giving and life-threatening. In order to unleash the positive attributes of these powers, one must also confront the imposing components of them. But the ultimate example of this phenomenon is the awesome fame of the almighty God.
My Fame, His Fame is a call for believers to heed the example of the prophet Habakkuk by stepping to their watch on the ramparts and calling for a revelation of God's mighty acts to be repeated in our time. It is an inspiring reminder that our lives are to be lived for one aim: to increase the fame of the Famous One. Readers will encounter a radically different--and far better--approach to achieving success in life and will walk away inspired and equipped to live for the purpose of His fame.
Rooted in Habakkuk 3:2 "Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy," My Fame, His Fame will spur the reader to usher in the fame of God. It will be organized into four parts based on Habakkuk's story: I) The Legend, II) The Proclamation, III) The Knowledge, IV) The Request.

If is a powerful little word. Some people are stuck in "if only,"
trudging through lives marked with regret. But God wants us to live
lives marked with possibilities, with the "what if" attitude that
looks forward to the future with confidence. Why? Because the
answer to "If God is for us, who can be against us?" is "No one."
God is always on our side. Every day, in every way. With his
trademark enthusiasm, Mark Batterson helps readers overcome
feelings of guilt, fear, and doubt because in Christ there is no
condemnation. Unpacking the promises of Romans 8, he shows readers
that they are more than conquerors--right now and forever. And
because of that, the possibilities for their lives are limitless.
Christians who want to take the next step in their faith walk need
look no further. It's time to ante up and go all in with God. The
Gospel costs nothing. You can't earn it or buy it. It can only be
received as a free gift, which is compliments of God's grace. It
doesn't cost anything, but it demands everything. It demands that
we go "all in," putting all that we have into God's hands. But why
do so many Christians hesitate to do that? And when did we start
believing that the Gospel is an insurance plan? We're afraid that
if we go all in that we might miss out on what life has to offer.
But Jesus did not die to keep us safe. He died to make us
dangerous. So, let's step out of spiritual no man's land and kneel
at the foot of the cross of Christ and surrender to his lordship.
It's time to dethrone yourself and enthrone Christ as king, and
Pastor Mark Batterson is here to show you how. Using his customary
vivid, contemporary illustrations, as well as biblical characters
like Shamgar, Elisha, Jonathan, and even Judas, you will be
challenged to trade what Batterson calls "inverted Christianity"
for true discipleship as you strip away your excuses and
inhibitions and follow God completely. It's now or never. Are you
ready to go all in and all out for God? Also available: All In
student edition, video curriculum, and study guide.
"Life's not fair!" You've heard it a million times--and probably
said it yourself. But what if your greatest difficulties were
steppingstones to a greater destiny? What if seasons of unbearable
pain turned out to be pathways to unbelievable purpose? In The
Unfair Advantage, pastor Aaron Burke takes a closer look at the
seven unfair seasons Joseph endures in the book of Genesis and
reveals how Joseph's struggles are not unlike the battles readers
face today. Combining biblical truths with Pastor Aaron's insights
from his years of walking with people through their biggest
challenges, this book offers a message of hope and renewed strength
for anyone who has battled seasons of feeling discouraged,
rejected, undervalued, tempted, unfairly punished, deprived, or
forgotten. The surprising reality revealed by the story of Joseph
is that unfair moments and seasons of difficulty--if handled
wisely--can actually be used by God for our advantage. Readers will
be comforted and inspired as they encounter in a new way the
dramatic story of Joseph's trials and ultimate triumph. Along the
way, they'll learn how to transform adversity into advantage,
endure even the most challenging moments through courage and hope
rooted in faith, become aware of God's presence, peace, and promise
in the midst of hardship. Â In The Unfair Advantage, readers
who are walking through a season that seems unfair will be
reminded of God's ultimate gift of favor. While their situation may
seem hopeless now, they can trust that God is forging
something beautiful out of the brokenness, putting purpose to their
pain, righting every wrong, and building a destiny better than
their greatest dreams.
Do we believe that God still does miracles? Do we expect him to
move in miraculous ways in our day-in, day-out lives? Maybe we'd
like to see miracles, but it's hard to see past our problems. All
that is about to change, like water into wine. "There are miracles
all around us all the time," says Mark Batterson, "but you won't
see them if you don't know how to look for them." Now the
bestselling author of The Circle Maker reveals the incredible power
of the seven miraculous signs of Jesus found in the Gospel of John.
Batterson shows how they were not simply something Jesus did in the
past, but something he wants to do now, in the present. He shares
true stories of people today who are experiencing miracles in their
lives. And he brings to light countless miracles, big and small,
that we take for granted every day that point us toward the One who
healed the sick, calmed the storm, and yes, even raised the dead.
But this is more than a book about miracles. It's a book about the
only One who can perform them. Batterson cautions readers, "Don't
just seek miracles. Seek Jesus. And if you seek Jesus, miracles
will find you." Nothing has changed since Jesus called Lazarus out
of his tomb four days after his funeral. Our impossible situations
still double as God's greatest opportunity to reveal his glory. No
matter how big the problem is, God is bigger still. Anyone who
longs to see God work in miraculous ways today will love
Batterson's faith-building, life-giving message.
Batterson reassures readers that the life they want, and the future
God promises, is waiting in the midst of their failures, problems,
and fears, like a lion ready to strike. This edition is a repackage
intended to coincide with the release of Batterson's thematic
sequel Chase the Lion. As readers reflect on life, they will
discover the greatest regret will be the lions they didn't
chase--the risks not taken, opportunities not seized, and dreams
not pursued. Batterson challenges readers to stop running away from
what scares them most and start chasing the God-ordained
opportunities that cross their path. His encouragement will
strengthen readers to chase the lion and clearly see that God uses
hard experiences to prepare for future opportunities.
Transform Your If Only Regrets into What If Possibilities If is a
powerful little word. Some people are stuck in "if only," trudging
through lives marked with regret. But God wants us to live lives
marked with possibilities, with the "what if" attitude that looks
forward to the future with confidence. Why? Because the answer to
"If God is for us, who can be against us?" is "No one." God is
always on our side. Every day, in every way. With his trademark
enthusiasm and contagious joy, Mark Batterson helps readers
overcome feelings of guilt, fear, and doubt, because in Christ
there is no condemnation. Unpacking the promises of Romans 8, he
shows readers that they are more than conquerors--right now and
forever. And because of that, the possibilities for their lives are
limitless. Christians from all walks of life will find themselves
set free by this inspiring and entertaining read. Now in paper.
Abundant life. Does that describe the life you're living now? Or do
words like busy, overwhelming, disappointing, or exhausting come to
mind instead? Today, more than ever, we long for satisfaction in
our lives and fulfillment in our faith but come up empty. We are
lacking, and that hole can't be filled by money, prestige, or
stuff. Pastor Choco, author of Move into More, knows what it feels
like to want more from life. Raised by a single mother after his
alcoholic father left, he grew up as a poor Puerto Rican kid in
Humboldt Park, one of Chicago's toughest neighborhoods. He grew up
never having enough. However, God had so much more for him. Pastor
Choco rose to become senior pastor of New Life Covenant Church (one
of Chicago's fastest-growing churches) and one of TIME magazine's
100 Most Influential People in the World. In Move into More, with
conviction and earnestness, Pastor Choco explains that God has
promised a life of more-joyful contentment that comes from living
passionately with a purpose-to anyone who follows him in obedience.
It's not who you are, he says, it's what Jesus can do if you will
let him. Choco breaks down popular-yet-untrue thinking that God's
"more" is about wealth or material possessions, fame or power, and
shows readers that God's more is far better than anyone could ever
imagine. If you're willing to Move into More, your eyes will be
opened to the all-powerful, all-loving God who wants more for you
than you can imagine in your wildest dreams. When you follow Him
faithfully and obediently, you will find peace in your problems,
rest in your weariness, order in circumstantial chaos, and joy in
trials. Don't settle for less than God has for you-it's time to
Move into More!

"The Celtic Christians had a name for the Holy Spirit that has
always intrigued me.They called Him An Geadh-Glas,or "the Wild
Goose." I love the imagery and implications. The name hints at the
mysterious nature of the Holy Spirit. Much like a wild goose, the
Spirit of God cannot be tracked or tamed. An element of danger and
an air of unpredictability surround Him. And while the name may
sound a little sacrilegious at first earshot, I cannot think of a
better description of what it's like to pursue the Spirit's leading
through life than "Wild Goose chase". I think the Celtic Christians
were on to something that institutionalized Christianity has missed
out on. And I wonder if we have clipped the wings of the Wild Goose
and settled for something less - much less - than what God
originally intended for us. I understand that "wild goose chase"
typically refers to a purposeless endeavor without a defined
destination. But chasing the Wild Goose is different. The
promptings of the Holy Spirit can sometimes seem pretty pointless,
but rest assured, God is working His plan. And if you chase the
Wild Goose, He will take you places you never could have imagined
going by paths you never knew existed. I don't know a single Christ
follower who hasn't gotten stressed out over trying to figure out
the will of God. We want to solve the mystery of the will of God
the way we solve a Sudoku or crossword puzzle. But in my
experience, intellectual analysis usually results in spiritual
paralysis. We try to make God fit within the confines of our
cerebral cortex. We try to reduce the will of God to the logical
limits of our left brain. But the will of God is neither logical
nor linear. It is downright confusing and complicated. A part of us
feels as if something is spiritually wrong with us when we
experience circumstantial uncertainty. But that is precisely what
Jesus promised us when we are born of the Spirit and start
following Him. Most of us will have no idea where we are going most
of the time. And I know that is unsettling. But circumstantial
uncertainty also goes by another name: adventure. I think it is
only fair that I give a Wild Goose warning at the outset of this
book: nothing is more unnerving or disorienting than passionately
pursuing God. And the sooner we come to terms with that spiritual
reality, the more we will enjoy the journey. I cannot, in good
conscience, promise safety or certainty. But I can promise that
chasing the Wild Goose will be anything but boring!" - Mark
Batterson
