This is a story of the power of Will and the power of LOVE. This is
Stoney's message, "We save ourselves by saving the world. We save
the world by one kind word, one kind deed, one selfless act... The
power of Love holds back the gates of Hell. What is Hell, if not
the place where there is no LOVE?
I remember the first thing I ever said about Larry Stone... "That
guy doesn't know he is handicapped does he?" That was three decades
ago, and I still have not come up with a better summary of this
man's life."
Mark Edward Cody

Wado Ryu Karate/Jujutsu is the third book by master martial arts
instructor, Mark Edward Cody. This volume explores the origins,
techniques and kata of one of Japan's most traditional martial
arts. This is the first book to examine all seventeen kata of the
system and is one of the few existing texts written by a native
English speaker. Unlike other works on the subject, kata movement
is explained in precise detail. The reader is given clear,
systematic instruction in the direction, execution and technique of
kata movement. Cody chronicles the traditions of Wado Ryu in light
of the necessity for innovation and combat effectiveness in the
propagation and evolution of ancient fighting systems. Wado Ryu
Karate/Jujutsu embodies the ancient martial principle to "Absorb
that which is useful." Hironori Ohtsuka created the Wado system by
blending the best aspects of Shotokan Karate with Shindo Yoshin Ryu
Jujutsu. Following the Founder's example, Cody draws upon his
knowledge of Filipino Combat Systems and other arts in his analysis
of this Traditional Japanese Fighting Art.
From German unification in 1871 through the early 1960s,
confessional tensions between Catholics and Protestants were a
source of deep division in German society. Engaging this period of
historic strife, Germany and the Confessional Divide focuses on
three traumatic episodes: the Kulturkampf waged against the
Catholic Church in the 1870s, the collapse of the Hohenzollern
monarchy and state-supported Protestantism after World War I, and
the Nazi persecution of the churches. It argues that memories of
these traumatic experiences regularly reignited confessional
tensions. Only as German society became increasingly secular did
these memories fade and tensions ease.
This book is an anthology of Mark Edward's creative practice-led
projects. It transmits and communicates his research through varied
artistic means, primarily contemporary dance, immersive art
installation, drag performance, and photography. Through the
innovative practice of 'mesearch', in which the author is both
theoriser and theorised, this study delivers a personal, creative
narration, combining reflections and emotions in relation to self
and performance. Instead of being an attempt to undervalue or
challenge the accepted notions of style within academic research,
it promotes a freedom of expression which allows greater fluidity
between the researcher, the performer, and the writer.
Citizenship is increasingly the core concept by which human
belonging is defined but do we really understand what it is? This
book develops an evolutionist argument to challenge accepted ideas
about citizenship and question how well it fits between political
prescriptions for sociality and human nature.

Edwards theory book uses the metaphor of "The Warrior" to advance
his philosophy of stoic, Judeo-Christian values as an answer to the
problems that face humanity. (Philosophy)
..".You thought that we actually take the rules seriously? No
way, not in the world of fear and compromise that we rattle around
in. ... Rules and principals are useful to us, just like great
teeth, a pretty face and a mouth full of promises are useful to a
politician... Lawyers are concerned with results, judges are
concerned with clearing cases from their dockets, and cities are
concerned with image. Principles like what's right and what's wrong
often take a back seat to those priorities. Alex Zouzoulas,
