The way speakers in multilingual contexts develop own varieties in
their interactions sheds light on code switching and multimodal
dynamic co-constructions of grammar in use. This volume explores
the intersection of multimodality and language use of multilingual
speakers. Firstly, theoretical frames are discussed and empirical
studies involving Catalan, German and Spanish as L1, L2 or FL are
presented interconnecting verbal and gestural modalities into
grammar description or exploring actions as sources for gestures,
which may nonverbally represent the argument in German dynamic
motion verbs. Other chapters focus on positionings in interviews,
lexical access searches or proxemics in greetings and farewells.
The contributions secondly focus on verbal features of language use
in multilingual contexts related to self-representation and
co-construction of identity through code-switching, deixis or
argumentative reasoning in different communicative events based on
multilingual data of languages including Croatian, English,
Italian, Brazilian-Portuguese and Polish. The findings call for a
reviewed conception of grammar description with implications also
for the conceptualization of deixis, for L2/foreign language
acquisition and language teaching policies.
The human body is a recurrent theme in contemporary literatures in
English. The aim of this collection of essays is to explore its
multiple representations and functions within a wide range of texts
drawn together from various Anglophone cultures. For thematic
coherence, this volume is divided into four parts: Diseased Bodies,
Invented Bodies, Gendered and Transgender Bodies, and Fragmented
and Mutilated Bodies. By adopting multi-disciplinary perspectives,
each group of essays illustrates the different ways in which these
become multiply signifying sites of cultural and political
representation, whether the mode is realistic or daringly
speculative and fantastic, as in the case of genetically designed
bodies, monstrous and machine bodies. This book contributes to
understanding the body as a culture-specific construct.
2011 in Madrid stattfand.
estudios literarios, culturales y linguisticos, dando ademas
culturales.
This volume features a collection of papers on emerging concepts,
significant insights, novel approaches and ideas in information
systems development (ISD). It examines and investigates
up-and-coming trends in ISD in general, emphasizing the continuous
collaboration between developers and operators to optimize the
software delivery time. The book gathers selected papers from the
29th International Conference on Information Systems Development
held at Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, Spain, September 8-10,
2021. The theme of ISD2021 was "Crossing Boundaries between
Development and Operations (DevOps) in Information Systems." The
revised and extended papers focus on the influences among
information systems, organizational structures, processes and
people from its conception to its operation. They examine
methodological issues and ways in which the IS designers,
developers and operators are transforming organisations and society
through information systems.
Antimicrobial polymers are materials that prevent microorganism
growth and are needed for many everyday applications from food
packaging and water treatment to medicine and healthcare. This new
book covers different areas of antimicrobial materials based on
polymers including chitosan, polymers with ammonium and phosphonium
groups, polymer nanofibers, carbon-based polymer Nanocomposites,
polymeric and non-polymeric metal complexes, and biomimetic
materials. By combining the information of different materials as
well as antimicrobial action modes and applications within one
source, the book provides a general summary of the field. Polymeric
Materials with Antimicrobial Activity starts with a general
introduction to antimicrobial polymers and presents the most common
types of microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, yeast and algae) along
with the main areas of application of antimicrobial polymeric
materials. Specific chapters then detail different polymer systems
covering the fundamental issues of synthesis, characterization,
physico-chemical properties and applications. With contributions
from leading scientists the book is suitable for researchers in
polymers, chemistry, biology and materials science interested in an
overview of antimicrobial polymeric materials as well as the recent
advances in their synthesis, properties and applications.
codificacion normativa.
