The thrilling third series of the award-winning Line of Duty introduces Sergeant Danny Waldron (Daniel Mays), the highly proficient leader of a police Armed Response Unit whose unpredictable behaviour is becoming a threat to colleagues and suspects alike.

The series opens explosively with the ambush of a police convoy in which three police officers are killed and a protected witness seriously injured. The sole surviving police officer is Detective Inspector Lindsay Denton. Deputy Chief Constable Mike Dryden takes personal charge, assigning AC-12 to the case.

In doing so, Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott, Detective Constable Kate Fleming and Superintendent Ted Hastings are joined by newly-appointed Detective Constable Georgia Trotman to investigate a complex case rich in unexpected twists and turns.

Eddie Marsan, Martin Compston and Gemma Arterton star in this British thriller. Hardened criminal Vic (Marsan) and his younger accomplice Danny (Compston) kidnap Alice (Arterton) from a suburban street. Gagging her and tying her to a bed in a purposely soundproofed flat, the two men plan to negotiate a large ransom from Alice's millionaire father before fleeing the country.

But while Vic seems confident that their plan will succeed, Danny cannot entirely suppress his misgivings. Meanwhile, Alice refuses to play the role of victim, and it quickly becomes evident that she will not give in without a fight.
