Otto Piene: Paths to Paradise accompanies an extensive museum
exhibition that features the visionary, intermedial works of Otto
Piene (1928-2014). This catalogue presents new scholarship on the
development of his imaginative approaches to interlace art,
science, and nature and uncover strategies of coping in an
increasingly uncertain world. In the spirit of Piene’s
transatlantic career, this richly illustrated catalogue features
essays by emerging and established art historians and curators from
the U.S. and Europe. Shedding light on the life-affirming vision
Piene developed in the wake of World War II, these texts consider
the ambition of his work in a range of media and
contexts—television, kinetic sculpture, drawing, painting,
performance—that incorporates the ephemeral through its
atmospheric effects and shared social experiences.
Trilogy needs to be read in book order: FBI Agents Roger Dance and
Paul Casey race against time to trap ruthless opponents committed
to destroying anyone who gets in their way. The FBI team and the
angels are pushed to their limits as they realize powerful forces
have weaved a diabolical plan using New Orleans as a test city.
Roger tugs at every loose thread of the design's plan, exposing
unthinkable plots from deadly enemies. The raspy, haunting words of
an old, blind man prove true. "Big cities be brutal. Take
unsuspectin' souls and eat 'em alive. Nawlens, don't even chew."

Trilogy needs to be read in book order: FBI Special Agents Roger
Dance and Paul Casey are forced to reopen the worst case of their
careers. The Angels return to help, as the muderous trail leads
Roger's team to New Orleans and deep into the hot, sticky swamps of
Louisiana, and Mambo's hut on Honey Island. Roger and Paul unearth
danger and deception in the seedy shipyards of the port, the
underbelly of the city, and the heart of the French Quarter. As
forces align against them, Roger crafts an extraordinary trap that
reveals extreme threats and will require extreme force. Book One:

Silent Crickets
"Alcohol Was Not Involved" FBI Special Agents Roger Dance and Paul
Casey are faced with the worst case of their careers. Beautiful
women are missing. Some are showing up weeks later next to busy
highways in broad daylight. Dead, strangled, and dumped, like
trash. Some are being held captive, prisoners, and starved to
death. None of the traditional rules of profiling seem to apply,
and the body count keeps growing. * Four friends die in an auto
accident only to discover that Heaven has decided to make them
'special' Angels, whose purpose is to help mortals do good. Faced
with learning their new Angel skills at the same time they accept
their first assignment, to help Roger and Paul catch the murderer,
the Angels find themselves somewhat torn between their mortal
attributes and Angel rules. For Roger and Paul (and the FBI) law
enforcement will never be the same. Book tags: New mystery,
