Retired police officer Chase Harlow from North Carolina receives
a call from his old friend and fellow policeman, Andy Toler. Andy's
granddaughter, Emily, went with some friends to a small island for
one last summer fling before the start of school-but she never came
back.
Chase agrees to check into things and heads to the island. As
soon as he arrives, he learns about the murder of a young girl.
It's not Emily; as it turns out, Emily has returned home safe and
sound. Even so, Chase can't ignore his police instincts, and he
decides to find out what he can about the girl who was killed.
One night at a bar, he meets a beautiful woman named Adrian who
tells Chase that she saw the murdered woman at Rainbow Island, an
isolated island far out in the Atlantic Ocean. Home to an elite
private club, it boasts that it can "make all your dreams come
true." Chase isn't so sure about that, but he heads out to the
island to see if he can uncover the villain.
What he finds, however, is romance, intrigue, and a killer who
isn't going to come quietly.
Beautiful and brutally honest, Mary Lambert's poetry is a beacon to
anyone who's ever been knocked down - and picked themselves up
again. In verse that deals with sexual assault, mental illness, and
body acceptance, Ms. Lambert emerges as an important new voice in
poetry, providing strength and resilience even in the darkest of
times.
Follow this unique programme to discover the joy of living with
less items and discover how liberating and fulfilling life becomes
when you learn to live with less. The premise of this book is
simple: if you don't love it, lose it! Many people think that the
more they own, the more contented and happy they will be - their
lives become defined by their possessions. In fact, the opposite is
often true: the more we have, the less happy and contented we are
in mind, body and spirit. Decluttering expert Mary Lambert explains
how having too much clutter can stop you moving forward in life,
and how learning to let go of items we neither love or need is
liberating and fulfilling. The challenge starts with an inventory
of your personal possessions, then you begin the process of
clearing out your items, addressing each area at a time, from
clothes, to jewellery, to hobby items. Once you've tackled your
personal items, you can get started on the rest of your household
goods.

Ashley Wilkes and Scarlet O'Hara find love in the foothills of
North Carolina. A chance encounter at a fast food restaurant is the
beginning. Identifying a photograph leads Ashley and Scarlet on a
journey to find the father Scarlet never knew. The search uncovers
long buried family secrets that involve the world of racing and
moonshine liquor. A case of mistaken identity and thirty years of
resentment are unraveled in the course of a few weeks. Along the
way, Ashley discovers that he is not the person he has always
thought himself to be. The cast of characters includes two dowager
sisters, their British chauffeur, a conniving secretary, a weary
waitress, former racecar drivers, a bootlegger, a mother on the
edge of dementia, a jilted attorney, a gardener who loves crossword
puzzles, a Gulf war hero, and a mysterious coroner. These
characters make "The Giveaway Girl" an interesting read. Don't miss
the surprise that unfolds for Scarlet.
