The Metropolitan Opera give a live performance of Donizetti's work about Mary, Queen of Scots' final days in the lead up to her execution. Maurizio Benini conducts the Metropolitan Orchestra with Joyce DiDonato portraying the title role and Elza van den Heever as Queen Elizabeth I.
A collection of live recordings of operas by Giuseppe Verdi, filmed at theatres in Liege, Palermo and Venice, and at the historical fortress of Tsaverets in Bulgaria. Giacomo Puccini's opera in three acts, set in Rome at the beginning of the 19th century, performed at the 2003/4 Teatro Real season. In Rome, 1800, former consul Cesare Angelotti seeks refuge with the painter Cavaradossi in the Attavanti chapel. Cavaradossi's lover Tosca (Daniela Dessė), however, believes that he has another woman, and betrays him and Angelotti to Baron Scarpia, the chief of police.
Bulgarian soprano Darina Takova takes the lead role in this production of Verdi's tragic opera recorded at Teatro La Fenice, Venice in 2006. The conductor is Maurizio Benini.

Enrique Mazzola conducts a 2013 performance of 'Don Pasquale' in which Alessandro Corbelli stars in the title role, alongside Danielle de Niese, Nikolay Borchev and Alek Shrader. Maurizio Benini leads the orchestra in 'L'elisir d'amore' (2009). The cast includes Ekaterina Siurina, Peter Auty, Alfredo Daza and Luciano di Pasquale.
