In 1993, aged twenty, Carmel Mc Mahon left Ireland for New York,
carrying $500, two suitcases and a ton of unseen baggage. It took
years, and a bitter struggle with alcohol addiction, to unpick the
intricate traumas of her past and present. Candid yet lyrical, In
Ordinary Time mines the ways that trauma reverberates through time
and through individual lives, drawing connections to the events and
rhythms of Ireland's long Celtic, early Christian and Catholic
history. From tragically lost siblings to the broader social scars
of the Famine and the Magdalene Laundries, Mc Mahon sketches the
evolution of a consciousness from her conservative 1970s upbringing
to 1990s New York, and back to the much-changed Ireland of today.

Are we really being ourselves on social media? Can we benefit from
connecting with people we barely know online? Why do some people
overshare on social networking sites? The Psychology of Social
Media explores how so much of our everyday lives is played out
online, and how this can impact our identity, wellbeing and
relationships. It looks at how our online profiles, connections,
status updates and sharing of photographs can be a way to express
ourselves and form connections, but also highlights the pitfalls of
social media including privacy issues. From FOMO to fraping, and
from subtweeting to selfies, The Psychology of Social Media shows
how social media has developed a whole new world of communication,
and for better or worse is likely to continue to be an essential
part of how we understand our selves.

Cybersecurity issues, problems and incidents don't always relate to
technological faults. Many can be avoided or mitigated through
improved cybersecurity awareness, behaviour and culture change
(ABCs). This book guides organisations looking to create an
enhanced security culture through improved understanding and
practice of cybersecurity at an individual level. Key awareness,
behaviour and culture concepts are covered from the ground up,
alongside practical tips and examples.

Grand public buildings and opulent villas more often than not steal
the limelight from more mundane structures such as shops and
workshops which, nevertheless, played a vital role in catering for
the needs of Roman Britain. This thesis assesses evidence from
major sites across the country to present a systematic study of the
range of tabernae that have been discovered whilst discussing their
significance for our understanding of local urban economies as well
as the wider Romano-British economy. Drawing on archaeological
evidence from sites in Verulamium, Cirencester, Wroxeter, London,
Caerwent, Vindolanda and elsewhere and, making comparisons with the
well-preserved structures of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Rome and Ostia,
MacMahon examines the construction of tabernae, their plan,
counters, and doorways as well as covered walkways, methods of
selling and display, the economics of tabernae and their location
across Britain.
