A man in a business suit offers the protection of his umbrella to
an unsuspecting woman ... and several days later she turns up dead
on a river bank, raped and strangled. The terrifying serial killer
known in the press as the Rainy Day Killer is now hunting new
victims in the city of Glendale, whenever it rains. Homicide
Lieutenant Hank Donaghue leads the investigation as the killer
begins to communicate directly to him through phone calls and
grisly packages containing body parts of his victims. Assisted by
FBI profiler Ed Griffin, Donaghue and Detective Karen Stainer
pursue an elusive predator who leaves no physical evidence behind.
The timing couldn't be worse, however, as Karen Stainer's attention
is divided between the investigation and preparations for her
upcoming wedding. Distracted and uncertain about her future,
Stainer is furious when she learns that the Rainy Day Killer has
followed her to Virginia, where the wedding will take place, and
that he intends to make her his next victim
Experienced criminal investigators Donaghue and Stainer wrestle
with their disbelief of a little boy's claims that he remembers the
men who killed him in his previous life.
First there was the car accident that claimed his beloved wife.
Then came the gruelling months of recuperation from his injuries.
Now his constant companions are ghosts seeking worldly release. His
new home is haunted by the ghost of a young girl demanding his
help. His friends and neighbours are under attack by strange,
destructive forces. Who is the Angry Man who haunts his dreams ...
and what does the demon controlling him want of Simon Guthrie?
When the only eyewitness to the murder of a billionaire suffers
from a rare psychotic disorder that causes a delusional
misidentification of people, Lieutenant Hank Donaghue must search
for evidence of the killer among the wealthiest members of
Glendale's social class - including close friends of his own
mother. Detective Karen Stainer, on the other hand, firmly believes
that the eyewitness was not delusional and is telling the truth
when he identifies the killer as the man he believes is persecuting
him
A beautiful woman is murdered in a small town in Virginia, and
Homicide Lieutenant Hank Donaghue is the prime suspect.
