The question of the historicity of Jesus' resurrection has been
repeatedly probed, investigated and debated. And the results have
varied widely. Perhaps some now regard this issue as the
burned-over district of New Testament scholarship. Could there be
any new and promising approach to this problem? Yes, answers
Michael Licona. And he convincingly points us to a significant
deficiency in approaching this question: our historiographical
orientation and practice. So he opens this study with an extensive
consideration of historiography and the particular problem of
investigating claims of miracles. This alone is a valuable
contribution. But then Licona carefully applies his principles and
methods to the question of Jesus' resurrection. In addition to
determining and working from the most reliable sources and bedrock
historical evidence, Licona critically weighs other prominent
hypotheses. His own argument is a challenging and closely argued
case for the historicity of the resurrection of Jesus, the Christ.
Any future approaches to dealing with this 'prize puzzle' of New
Testament study will need to be routed through The Resurrection of
Jesus.
The resurrection of Jesus: fact or fiction? Imagine a crowded arena
full of Christians, Muslims, and curious onlookers packed in to
hear the outcome of one of the greatest debates in all of history.
If Jesus didn't rise from the dead, Christianity is false. But if
Jesus was resurrected, Christianity is true and Islam is false. The
stakes are high. Paul Meets Muhammad imagines a futuristic face-off
between two religious heavyweights, each speaking on the validity
of their doctrines, forming arguments and rebuttals while citing
evidence from the Qur'an and the Gospel accounts. Intriguing and
entertaining, this page-turner uniquely offers a comprehensive
defense of Jesus's resurrection and of Christianity itself. "Paul
Meets Muhammad entertains and educates the reader with an
ingeniously crafted debate that is fair to both sides. If you are a
Christian looking for a resource on how to share your faith with
your Muslim friend, look no further."--D. James Kennedy,
chancellor, Knox Theological Seminary "In a day of heightened
awareness of Islam in the West, it is vitally important that
Christians know how to give an answer when asked by a Muslim for
the hope that is in us."--William Lane Craig, research professor of
philosophy, Talbot School of Theology "Licona has found the most
unique manner of approaching Islamic evangelism that I have seen in
quite some time. I cannot give this work a higher endorsement. This
book can change lives."--Ergun Mehmet Caner, dean, Liberty
Theological Seminary; co-author, Unveiling Islam Michael R. Licona
(Ph.D. cand., University of Pretoria) is director of apologetics
evangelism at the North American Mission Board of the Southern
Baptist Convention and theco-author of The Case for the
Resurrection of Jesus.
This is an accessible, comprehensive, and persuasive resource
providing detailed evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. It also
demonstrates how to share the material clearly, honestly, and
definitively. Included is an interactive CD which tests the
reader's knowledge of the material by using an entertaining TV game
show format. "There is nothing like this on the market. It is
interesting, engaging, and crucial material."
--Norman Geisler " The authors] have distinguished themselves as
leading experts on the evidence for this all important event." --D.

There have always been challenges to belief in God as he is
revealed in the Bible and each new year seems to add more questions
to the doubter's arsenal. In Evidence for God, leading apologists
provide compelling arguments that address the most pressing
questions of the day about God, science, Jesus, the Bible, and
more, including
Is Intelligent Design really a credible explanation of the origins
of our world?
Did Jesus really exist?
Is Jesus really the only way to God?
What about those who have never heard the gospel?
Is the Bible today what was originally written?
What about recently publicized gospels that aren't in the
Bible?
and much more
