A fabulously funny take on a classic story from two giants of
children's books! Goldilocks and her little dog are off on an
adventure, looking for that house again - the one with the chairs,
the porridge and beds. The sound of the sea calls to them and
before they know it, they have found quite a different sort of a
house . . . there are bowls, and chairs and sort-of beds . . . plus
some rather unexpected and hilarious inhabitants! From Michael
Rosen, the highly regarded author of We're Going on a Bear Hunt,
comes this wonderful new take on the famous nursery rhyme,
brilliantly brought to life by David Melling, the creator of
Hugless Douglas.

Little Red Riding Hood – who is not-so-little anymore! – is riding her pony through the woods to visit Granny for a picnic and a surprise. Now that she is bigger, she feels much braver than the last time she went. Until . . . what was that? Was it the Big Bad Wolf?
A funny story full of surprises!

From two of the biggest names in children's publishing, this is an
inspiring guide to wordplay for young readers, their parents and
teachers. I'm ready for spaghetti Will you getti the spaghetti?
Don't say, "Not yetti spaghetti!" 'cos I'm all setti for spaghetti.
Fizzing with rhythm, energy and laughter, the 30 poems in Ready for
Spaghetti delight in the details of children's daily routines. "Up,
up, uppity-up!", the first poem announces, while the artwork shows
a child leaping out of bed, ready to begin their morning; "Hush and
a hush, soft and low", chants the final poem, as children snuggle
under their blankets after their day's adventures. Full of
affectionate observations of young children, which are beautifully
continued in Polly Dunbar's warm-hearted pictures, Michael Rosen's
poems are ideal for reading aloud with toddlers ... and many
grown-ups will soon know them by heart!
Named Children's Book of the Week by The Times! Inspired by a true
family story, Michael Rosen presents an astonishing account of
perseverance, love and hope in wartime. Beginning in 1939, young
Solly in London exchanges letters with his teenaged cousin, Bernie,
in Poland. While Solly is evacuated and tries his best to adjust to
life in the English countryside, Bernie's parents know that as Jews
they're not safe staying in Warsaw, so they send Bernie to the
Russian-occupied side of the country in the hope that he'll be
safer there. Soon, though, he is arrested and sent off to a forced
labour camp in Russia. As the cousins exchange sporadic letters,
they try to keep their spirits up, trading jokes and observations
about the world changing all around them. Then Bernie seizes the
opportunity to join the "Anders Army" and fight the Axis powers,
and tells Solly all about his experiences in Iraq and eventually
Italy, where he fights alongside the British at the famous Battle
of Monte Cassino. Does Bernie survive and find a safe place to call
home? With breathtaking illustrations by beloved illustrator
Michael Foreman, this is an unforgettable story of courage and
love, perfect for the whole family to share. Michael Rosen is one
of the best-known figures in the children's book world, known for
his work as poet and author of classic books such as WE'RE GOING ON
A BEAR HUNT. This book is a perfect companion to POPPY FIELD by
Michael Morpurgo and Michael Foreman. Together, the books are a
wonderful introduction to the history of the great wars of the 20th
century and the importance of Remembrance.
Its never easy going on a bear hunt, as the five prospective
hunters soon find out. On a beautiful day, four children and their
dad cross a field of long grass, wade through a deep cold river ...
and into a narrow cave. They say they're not scared... But whats
that fearful creature looming up ahead?
Double the trouble! An original novel by Michael Rosen, told
alongside the Dickens classic that inspired it: Oliver Twist. Shona
and her dad are moving house, and at Shona's new school, the rules
are pretty confusing; she keeps getting into trouble without
realizing! It's a lot like how it is for Oliver Twist, that boy
she's reading about in English class. After Shona is unexpectedly
given a mobile phone, she begins to suspect there's something fishy
about the new boys she's met. Where did the phone come from? And
some gifts, she soon learns, aren't exactly free... Read two
stories at once - both illustrated by Tony Ross.

Michael Rosen's two cats are popular on Twitter because he started
sharing his conversations, (his 'chats') with them as tweets about
a year ago. The cats generally have the upper hand and Michael has
to put up with their demands. The tweets take on the format of
small playlets with the cats speaking as one. They often disturb
him working and just as often moan about their lack of food and his
treatment of them. The illustrations that accompany the tweets will
delight cat lovers and possibly the cats theemselves, althoughh
they are somewhat vain so this is not a forgone clonclusion. Those
who have similarly demanding moggies at home will no doubt treasure
this book.
Rigatoni is a pasta cat. He loves pasta, any kind of pasta:
spaghetti, penne, fusilli, with pesto, in soup, in lasagne, any
whichever way his owners, Ruth and Tina, will serve it. Then one
day Ruth and Tina go away and leave George in charge. And the pasta
is replaced with yucky cat food. Can Rigatoni find someone who
understands what he really wants to eat?

other ideas! One by one each child is refused access until the
tables are turned and George finds out how it feels to be on the
receiving end. A topical and perceptive book that shows that it is

Today, we don't get nearly enough play in our lives. At school,
kids are drilled on exams, while at home we're all glued to our
phones and screens. Former children's laureate and bestselling
author, Michael Rosen, is here to show us how to put this right -
and why it matters so much for creativity, resilience and much
more. Packed with silliness, activities and prompts for creative
indoor and outdoor play for all ages - with specially illustrated
pages for everything from doodling to word play and after-dinner
games.
Elementary number theory is concerned with arithmetic properties of the ring of integers. Early in the development of number theory, it was noticed that the ring of integers has many properties in common with the ring of polynomials over a finite field. The first part of this book illustrates this relationship by presenting, for example, analogues of the theorems of Fermat and Euler, Wilson¿s theorem, quadratic (and higher) reciprocity, the prime number theorem, and Dirichlet¿s theorem on primes in an arithmetic progression. After presenting the required foundational material on function fields, the later chapters explore the analogy between global function fields and algebraic number fields. A variety of topics are presented, including: the ABC-conjecture, Artin¿s conjecture on primitive roots, the Brumer-Stark conjecture, Drinfeld modules, class number formulae, and average value theorems.
