This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 10th International Conference on High Performance Computing for Computational Science, VECPAR 2012, held in Kope, Japan, in July 2012. The 28 papers presented together with 7 invited talks were carefully selected during two rounds of reviewing and revision. The papers are organized in topical sections on CPU computing, applications, finite element method from various viewpoints, cloud and visualization performance, method and tools for advanced scientific computing, algorithms and data analysis, parallel iterative solvers on multicore architectures.
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 9th International Conference on High Performance Computing for Computational Science, VECPAR 2010, held in Berkeley, CA, USA, in June 2010. The 34 revised full papers presented together with five invited contributions were carefully selected during two rounds of reviewing and revision. The papers are organized in topical sections on linear algebra and solvers on emerging architectures, large-scale simulations, parallel and distributed computing, numerical algorithms.
VECPAR is an international conference series dedicated to the promotion and advancement of all aspects of high-performance computing for computational science, as an industrial technique and academic discipline, extending the fr- tier of both the state of the art and the state of practice. The audience and participants of VECPAR are researchers in academic departments, government laboratories and industrial organizations. There is now a permanent website for the conference series inhttp: //vecpar.fe.up.pt where the history of the conference is described. This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the 7th International Conference on High Performance Computing for Computational Science, VECPAR 2006, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in June 2006. The 44 revised full papers presented together with 1 invited paper and 12 revised workshop papers were carefully selected during two rounds of reviewing and improvement for inclusion in the book. The papers are organized in topical sections on Grid computing, cluster computing, numerical methods, large-scale simulations in Physics, and computing in Biosciences. Finally this book includes some of the presentations at the two associated workshops on Computational Grids and Clusters, and on High Performance Data Management in Grid Environments.

ThesixtheditionofVECPARwasthe?rsttimetheconferencewascelebrated outside Porto at the Universitad Politecnica de Valencia (Spain), June 28 30, 2004. The whole conference programme consisted of 6 invited talks, 61 papers and26posters, outof130contributionsthatwereinitiallysubmitted.Themajor themes were divided into large-scale numerical and non-numerical simulations, parallel and grid computing, biosciences, numerical algorithms, data mining and visualization. This postconference book includes the best 48 papers and 5 invited talks presented during the three days of the conference. The book is organized into 6 chapters, with a prominent position reserved for the invited talks and the Best Student Paper. As a whole it appeals to a wide research community, from those involved in the engineering applications to those interested in the actual details of the hardware or software implementations, in line with what, in these days, tends to be considered as computational science and engineering (CSE)."
This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the 11th International Conference on High Performance Computing for Computational Science, VECPAR 2014, held in Eugene, OR, USA, in June/July 2014. The 25 papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected of numerous submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on algorithms for GPU and manycores, large-scale applications, numerical algorithms, direct/hybrid methods for solving sparse matrices, performance tuning. The volume also contains the papers presented at the 9th International Workshop on Automatic Performance Tuning.
