firstsite's autumn season began with a new solo exhibition by the British artist Anthea Hamilton.Hamilton's energetic collages explored the surreal and seductive nature of images. Her sculptures, installations and videos made reference to the history of art, cinema and performance, playfully inserting the viewer into a three-dimensional composition.Sorry I'm Late sees work was installed across the building with firstsite's galleries dramatically transformed into a series of environments - from a film studio to a restaurant kitchen. Soft sculptures, Perspex figures mounted on wheels, a giant zoetrope-inspired portrait of John Travolta and a medieval cocktail that is claimed to cure cataracts are amongst the works that comprise the exhibition.

The purpose of this book is to provide data needed to predict the interference potential of various UWB signals. The results will be useful for regulatory agencies that are currently charged with defining UWB emission limits and corresponding compliance measurement procedures. The approach is to inject carefully characterised interference into an operating narrow-band receiver and measure susceptibility of the receiver with precisely defined signal quality metrics. Data is then analysed to determine if there are common signal characteristics that predict interference potential. The victim receiver chosen for this interference susceptibility test is C-band satellite digital television (DTV). This receiver demodulates signals transmitted in the 3.7 to 4.2 GHz frequency range, which lies within the band allocated for UWB devices. Radically deconstructing the language of abstraction, he re-imagined it not as a utopian source of liberation, but as a dystopian symbol of the regulation of physical and social space. As he wrote in 1990: “I wanted to draw attention to this geometricised, rationalised, quantified world.
