William Morris was an outstanding character of many talents, being
an architect, writer, social campaigner, artist and, with his
Kelmscott Press, an important figure of the Arts and Crafts
movement. Many of us probably know him best, however, from his
superb furnishings and textile designs, intricately weaving
together natural motifs in a highly stylized two-dimensional
fashion influenced by medieval conventions. William Morris
Masterpieces of Art offers a survey of his life and work alongside
some of his finest decorative work.

the brilliant duo behind The Day the Banana Went Bad. Michael's one

sisters: "Fall in line," they tell him. "Be round! Be good! Be
neat! Be what cookies should be - super round and super sweet."
Michael doesn't want to be like the rest - he wants to be Michael.
But when Michael starts to feel like he can't be himself, he feels
all alone and the poor cookie CRUMBLES. Will his brothers and
sisters be there for him when he needs them most? And will they
realise that it's our differences that truly make us sweet?

The rise of the Art Nouveau style across Continental Europe and the
US in all forms of art was remarkable and is explored in this
beautifully illustrated book. Discussing the movement first as a
whole, then from the angle of the graphic arts and finally as
manifested in the fine arts, it focuses on the style in two
dimensions. From the work of well-known figures such as
Toulouse-Lautrec, Gaudi and Tiffany to beautiful posters and
illustrations advertising everything from coffee to costumes, and
even including an exploration of the links to Synthetism and
Symbolism among other movements, the book is a treat from start to
finish.

This copiously annotated bibliography documents and examines the
whole range of commentary on Strindberg's works and activity in
many fields besides the plays for which he is internationally best
known. These include his prose fiction and poetry, his work as an
historian and natural historian, and his relationship to the other
arts, most notably his painting. It is concerned with both lasting
works of literary and dramatic criticism, as well as reviews of his
books and plays in the theatre, and some more ephemeral material,
all of this in several languages. Organised generically and by
subject and individual work, the bibliography enables the reader to
trace the changing impact of Strindberg and his works in various
countries and during different periods. It is thus very much a
study in reception as well as a bibliographical record of published
material. It traces the developing image of Strindberg and his
writing both during his lifetime and in subsequent years, and with
frequent cross reference offers a comprehensive overview of a
literary and existential project that has rarely been matched for
its multifaceted diversity. The bibliography is published in three
parts. Volume 1, General Studies (978-0-947623-81-4) and Volume 2,
The Plays (978-0-947623-82-1) are also now available. Michael
Robinson is Emeritus Professor of Drama and Scandinavian Studies at
the University of East Anglia, Norwich.

Provides a timely overview of critical advances in molecular and
cellular neurobiology, covers key methodologies driving progress,
and highlights key future directions for research on neuronal
injury and neurodegeneration relevant to neuronal brain
pathologies. The editors bring together contributions from
internationally recognized workers in the field to provide an up to
date account of how and why molecular and cellular neurobiology is
such an important area for clinical neuroscience. Understanding the
molecular aspects of a number of neurodegenerative conditions such
as Parkinson's or Alzheimer's disease for the purpose of improving
patient management remains a major challenge of neurobiology be it
from the basic or clinical perspective. A strategic evaluation of
research contributions and the power of modern methods will help
advance knowledge over the next years.

With a focus on mental illness, Shell-shocked British Army veterans
in Ireland provides the first in-depth investigation of disabled
Great War veterans in Ireland. The book is a result of five years
of researching previously untouched archival sources including
psychiatric records of former patients otherwise closed to the
public. The remit of the work contributes to various
historiographical fields including disability history, the social
history of medicine, the cultural history of modern war, the
history of psychiatry and Irish studies. It also seeks to extend
the scope of the First World War with an emphasis on how
war-induced disability and trauma continued to affect large numbers
of ex-servicemen beyond the official cessation of the conflict. --
