Animated comedy based on the book by William Steig. Shrek (voice of Mike Myers) is a reclusive ogre living in a swamp on the edges of a fairytale kingdom. The vain yet diminutive ruler of the land, Prince Fahrquaad (John Lithgow), decides to streamline his kingdom by getting rid of all the fairytale characters who promptly decamp to live in Shrek's swamp.

Faced with these unwanted tenants Shrek strikes a deal with the Prince, promising to find and return with Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz), marriage to whom will finally confer on the Prince his kingly status. In return the Prince promises to evict the various characters living on Shrek's land. Shrek's task is further irritated by the unwanted company of a tirelessly wise-cracking Donkey (Eddie Murphy), and while their adventure bears all the hallmarks of a classic fairytale, nothing turns out quite like they expect.

Why Is God Laughing? - The Path to Joy and Spiritual Optimism (Paperback): Deepak Chopra Why Is God Laughing? - The Path to Joy and Spiritual Optimism (Paperback)
Deepak Chopra; Foreword by Mike Myers
R346 Discovery Miles 3 460 Ships in 18 - 22 working days

In this refreshing new take on spirituality, bestselling author Deepak Chopra uses a fictional tale of a comedian and his unlikely mentor to show us a path back to hope, joy, and even enlightenment--with a lot of laughter along the way.
Meet Mickey Fellows. A successful L.A. comedian, he's just a regular guy, with his fair share of fears, egocentricities, and addictions. After his father's death, Mickey meets a mysterious stranger named Francisco, who changes his life forever. The two begin an ongoing discussion about the true nature of being. Reluctantly at first, Mickey accepts the stranger's help and starts to explore his own life in an effort to answer the riddles Francisco poses. Mickey starts to look at those aspects of himself that he has hidden behind a wall of wisecracks all his life. Eventually Mickey realizes that authentic humor opens him up to the power of spirit--allowing him to finally make real connections with people.
After taking the reader on a journey with Mickey, Chopra then spells out the lessons that Mickey's story imparts to us: ten reasons to be optimistic, even in our challenging world. Chopra believes that the healthiest response to life is laughter from the heart, and even in the face of global turmoil, we can cultivate an internal sense of optimism. Rich with humor and practical advice, "Why Is God Laughing?" shows us without a doubt that there is always a reason to be grateful, that every possibility holds the promise of abundance, and that obstacles are simply opportunities in disguise. In the end, we really don't need a reason to be happy. The power of happiness lies within each of us, just waiting to be unleashed. And Mickey Fellows's journey shows us the way.

Quentin Tarantino directs this ensemble action drama set in Europe during World War Two. In the first of two converging storylines, Shosanna (Melanie Laurent), a young Jewish woman in occupied France, seeks to avenge the death of her parents by the Nazis after narrowly escaping execution herself and fleeing to Paris. There she creates a new identity for herself as the owner and manager of a cinema. Meanwhile, a group of Jewish American soldiers known as 'The Basterds', led by First Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt), joins forces with German actress and undercover agent Bridget von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. The Basterds cross paths with Shosanna when her cinema, which has been commandeered by the Nazis for the screening of their latest propaganda film, becomes the target for their next attack. However, unbeknown to them, Shosanna has devised a revenge plan of her own. Christoph Waltz gained the Best Supporting Actor Awards at both the 2010 BAFTAs and Academy Awards for his portrayal of the devious Colonel Hans Landa.

Live-action feature film based on the classic illustrated poem written in 1957 by Dr Seuss. Mike Myers stars as the eponymous Cat, who arrives at the home of Conrad and Sally Walden (Spencer Breslin and Dakota Fanning) when their mother (Kelly Preston) has gone out, having left strict instructions that the house must be spotless on her return. The cat proceeds to show the children how to have fun, first balancing an incredible array of household objects before sending them all crashing to the floor, then unleashing the uncontrollable duo Thing 1 and Thing 2, watched with horror by the children's pet fish. How will they clear up 'the mother of all messes' before their mother gets back?
