A fascinating and richly intricate tale that brilliantly weaves historical fact with fiction for a timely, cinematic experience. Set in the 1930s, Amsterdam follows three friends who witness a murder, become suspects themselves, and uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history.
Moronic metalheads Wayne (Mike Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey) broadcast a cable-access show from Wayne's basement. Their wisecracks about youth, music and girls are picked up on by a TV executive (Rob Lowe), who pays them to produce a 'new, improved' programme for national TV. But the pair discover that fame has its price when they lose control of the show and the TV executive starts pursuing Wayne's girlfriend.
Animated comedy based on the book by William Steig. Shrek (voice of
Mike Myers) is a reclusive ogre living in a swamp on the edges of a
fairytale kingdom. The vain yet diminutive ruler of the land, Prince
Fahrquaad (John Lithgow), decides to streamline his kingdom by getting
rid of all the fairytale characters who promptly decamp to live in
Shrek's swamp.
In this refreshing new take on spirituality, bestselling author
Deepak Chopra uses a fictional tale of a comedian and his unlikely
mentor to show us a path back to hope, joy, and even
enlightenment--with a lot of laughter along the way. "From the Hardcover edition."
Quentin Tarantino directs this ensemble action drama set in Europe during World War Two. In the first of two converging storylines, Shosanna (Melanie Laurent), a young Jewish woman in occupied France, seeks to avenge the death of her parents by the Nazis after narrowly escaping execution herself and fleeing to Paris. There she creates a new identity for herself as the owner and manager of a cinema. Meanwhile, a group of Jewish American soldiers known as 'The Basterds', led by First Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt), joins forces with German actress and undercover agent Bridget von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. The Basterds cross paths with Shosanna when her cinema, which has been commandeered by the Nazis for the screening of their latest propaganda film, becomes the target for their next attack. However, unbeknown to them, Shosanna has devised a revenge plan of her own. Christoph Waltz gained the Best Supporting Actor Awards at both the 2010 BAFTAs and Academy Awards for his portrayal of the devious Colonel Hans Landa.
The terrible twosome return for another burst of MTV-inspired comedy mayhem. It is now two years on, and the boys' cable show, now relocated to a nearby warehouse, is still doing well. However, when Wayne (Mike Myers) is visited by the ghost of Jim Morrison, he receives a new mission in life: he must now organise a massive rock festival - Waynestock. Meanwhile, his girlfriend Cassandra (Tia Carrere) seems to be interested in another slimy record producer (Christopher Walken), and his best friend Garth (Dana Carvey) is making romantic overtures towards sexy Honey Hornee (Kim Basinger).
