This book explores a range of photographic practices, including
landscape and portraiture, still life and abstract, and considers
techniques such as, directorial photography, photomontage and
camera-less photography. With case studies and practical exercises,
the reader is introduced to a structured way of developing creative
solutions to the work they want to make, fusing personal ideas with
knowledge, compositional elements and practical skills. The book
enables informed choices to be made about the reader's personal
growth as a photographer, contributing to the creation of original
photographic work that is informed, meaningful and relevant.
Additional reading and resources, on historical and contemporary
practices, ideas and techniques, are suggested in each chapter to
inspire further enquiry and experimentation.
This ground-breaking book situates research at the heart of
photographic practice, asking the key question: What does research
mean for photographers? Illuminating the nature and scope of
research and its practical application to photography, the book
explores how research provides a critical framework to help develop
awareness, extend subject knowledge, and inform the development of
photographic work. The authors consider research as integral to the
creative process and, through interviews with leading
photographers, explore how photographers have embedded research
strategies into their creative practice.

Peggy, a jolly woman of the waterway, is astonished to find a
grubby 11-year-old Zed hiding in a cupboard on the narrowboat she
is taking to Boswell's Yard for repair. What do to with him? Peggy
calls her friend Trip Boat Tim and his collie Barney to help.
Unwilling to return a tearful Zed to his cruel uncle, they enlist
the help of the local schoolteacher and policeman to contact Zed's
family and find out where he belongs. The Stowaway by Mike Simmons
is a charming and heartwarming tale that will appeal to children
aged 8-13. Join Zed, Peggy, Tim and Barney on the narrowboat
adventure, learning waterways craft and meeting colourful
characters along the way. The story will hold the reader's
attention from start to finish as the adults work out what is best
for the boy, resulting in a very happy ending. The Stowaway will
also give readers a fascinating and unique insight into life on a
working canal boat. Educational as well as entertaining, the book
includes a glossary of boating terms. Author Mike is inspired by
Richmal Crompton and Michael Morpugo. For every copy sold, GBP1
will be donated to the Tideway Adventurers Narrowboat Project.

TRUTHThis book is the result of many years of lay ministry and
study. It is also the result of seeing how this world is changing
and how truth is becoming less important every day. Jesus Christ is
the Truth for all time. It was Jesus himself who said that many
people would miss the truth, abandon the faith, and miss eternity
with God. The Bible also states that there will be great deception
in the last days. This book is written to fight that deception.
Note that there is a sword on the front cover. Remember that you
are in a battle and will be until you enter eternity.Mike Simmons
has served in churches for over twenty five years. He has worked in
church nurseries, with youth and adults, and even filled in the
pulpit as needed. He loves to preach and teach and to do one on one
ministry.Starting out his career as an engineer, Mike loves to be
scientific and accurate. This passion for accuracy and truth has
given him the desire to accurately divide the word of truth, to
study the languages and customs of the Bible, to separate false
doctrine from truth, and to write this book.Mike has answered the
call of God to enter full-time ministry. He graduated from LIFE
Pacific College in 2009. Mike currently lives in Tucson Arizona and
is available for ministry engagements. He can be reached at
