Collection of two comedies. In 'No Strings Attached' (2011), when
long-time friends Emma (Natalie Portman) and Adam (Ashton Kutcher)
decide to add a physical dimension to their relationship and move
into 'friends with benefits' territory, they agree to keep things
strictly casual and on a 'no strings' basis. But before long both
of them find things becoming more complicated than planned as those
pesky emotions get in the way. In 'Morning Glory' (2010), a sparky,
ambitious young television producer spies an opportunity to claw
her way up the career ladder when she is offered a job on
'Daybreak', the worst-performing morning chat show in the ratings.
Her decision to hire veteran newscaster Mike Pomeroy (Harrison
Ford) to host the show meets with scepticism from network executive
Jerry (Jeff Goldblum) and co-host Colleen Peck (Diane Keaton), and
with little enthusiasm from Pomeroy himself, who is obliged by his
contract to take this less-than-promising gig. Can Becky overcome
the poor ratings and in-fighting to bring the team together and
transform the show into something to be proud of?

"Lauren Thoman's I'll Stop the World is a whip-smart mystery with a
vibrant cast of characters that gives off great eighties vibes. I
was absolutely dazzled by this unputdownable genre-bending novel
that's equal parts coming-of-age suspense and emotional tale of
forgiveness and second chances." -Mindy Kaling The end and the
beginning become one in a heart-pounding coming-of-age mystery
about the power of friendship, fate, and inexplicable second
chances. Is it the right place at the wrong time? Or the wrong
place at the right time? Trapped in a dead-end town, Justin Warren
has had his life defined by the suspicious deaths of his
grandparents. The unsolved crime happened long before Justin was
born, but the ripple effects are still felt after thirty-eight
years. Justin always knew he wouldn't have much of a future. He
just never imagined that his life might take him backward. In a
cosmic twist of fate, Justin's choices send him crashing into the
path of determined optimist Rose Yin. Justin and Rose live in the
same town and attend the same school, but have never met-because
Rose lives in 1985. Justin won't be born for another twenty years.
And his grandparents are still alive-for now. In a series of events
that reverberate through multiple lifetimes, Justin and Rose have a
week to get Justin unstuck in time and put each of them in control
of their futures-by solving a murder that hasn't even happened yet.
"Bursting with humor, banter, and cringeworthy first dates, Sonali
Dev's The Vibrant Years is a joyful and fun read, but it's also
very much a timely tale about a group of underestimated women
demanding respect and embracing their most authentic selves."
-Mindy Kaling Living on their own terms means being there for one
another. When sixty-five-year-old Bindu Desai inherits a million
dollars, she's astounded-and horrified. The windfall threatens to
expose a shameful mistake from her youth. Desperate to keep the
secret, Bindu quickly spends it on something unexpected: a condo in
a posh retirement community in Florida. The impulsive decision
blindsides Bindu's daughter-in-law, Aly. At forty-seven, Aly still
shares a home with Bindu even after her divorce from Bindu's son.
But maybe this change is just the push Aly needs to fight for the
segment she's been promised for years at the news station where she
works. As Bindu and Aly navigate their new dynamic, Aly's daughter,
Cullie, is faced with losing the business that made her a
tech-world star. The only way to save it is to deliver a new idea
to her investors-and of course they want the half-baked dating app
she pitched them in a panic. Problem is, Cullie has never been on a
real date. Naturally, enlisting her single mother and grandmother
to help her with the research is the answer. From USA Today
bestselling author Sonali Dev comes a heartfelt novel about three
generations of hilarious, unconventional, ambitious women
navigating bad dates, a spiteful HOA board, reemerging exes, and
secrets that refuse to remain hidden. Join the Desai women on a
shared journey of self-discovery as they dare to live their most
vibrant lives.
Matt & Ben depicts its Hollywood golden boys - before J-Lo,
before Gwyneth, before Project Greenlight, before Oscar...before
anyone actually gave a damn.
"Smart, fast, clever, and funny (As f*ck!)" (Tiffany Haddish), this
collection of side-splitting and illuminating essays by the popular
stand-up comedian, alum of Chelsea Lately and The Mindy Project,
and host of truTV's Talk Show the Game Show is perfect for fans of
the New York Times bestsellers Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling and We
Are Never Meeting in Real Life by Samantha Irby. From a young age,
Guy Branum always felt as if he were on the outside looking in.
From a stiflingly boring farm town, he couldn't relate to his
neighbors. While other boys played outside, he stayed indoors
reading Greek mythology. And being gay and overweight, he got used
to diminishing himself. But little by little, he started learning
from all the sad, strange, lonely outcasts in history who had come
before him, and he started to feel hope. In this "singular,
genuinely ballsy, and essential" (Billy Eichner) collection of
personal essays, Guy talks about finding a sense of belonging at
Berkeley-and stirring up controversy in a newspaper column that led
to a run-in with the Secret Service. He recounts the pitfalls of
being typecast as the "Sassy Gay Friend," and how, after taking a
wrong turn in life (i.e. law school), he found stand-up comedy and
artistic freedom. He analyzes society's calculated deprivation of
personhood from fat people, and how, though it's taken him a while
to accept who he is, he has learned that with a little patience and
a lot of humor, self-acceptance is possible. "Keenly observant and
intelligent, Branum's book not only offers uproarious insights into
walking paths less traveled, but also into what self-acceptance
means in a world still woefully intolerant of difference" (Kirkus
Reviews, starred review). My Life as a Goddess is an unforgettable
and deeply moving book by one of today's most endearing and
galvanizing voices in comedy.
