How can non-windy places make use of wind power for electricity
generation? Advanced Wind Turbines provides detailed information
that is of great practical importance to wind turbine practitioners
from small and congested city-states, where the lack of vast land
and high wind speed render the conventional wind turbine less
effective. It introduces the non-conventional Darrieus and Savonius
wind turbines, as well as their hybrid version, covering basic
concepts, computational modelling and recent advances in
experimental optimization. What about those who prefer wind turbines
in faraway oceans to take advantage of high wind speed, or who come
from countries with a lack of shallow seabed? Floating offshore
wind turbines are also discussed, and the dynamics of floating
vis-Ã -vis grounded wind turbines are thoroughly expounded
upon to aid practitioners in achieving more accurate performance
modelling. This is a work of paramount usefulness for areas which
have long wanted to jump on the renewable energy bandwagon, but
have thus far been hampered by their natural geographical
limitations.
Tree based production systems abound especially in the tropics.
Despite the pervasiveness of such multipurpose trees-outside-forest
resources, they have not attracted adequate attention in the
development paradigms of many nation states. These multispecies
production systems impact the ecosystem processes favourably. Yet,
our understanding of the diversity attributes and carbon dynamics
under agroforestry is not adequate. This book focuses on the role
of multispecies production systems involving tree and crop species
as a means for carbon sequestration and thereby reduce atmospheric
carbon dioxide levels. Sixteen chapters organized into three broad
sections titled: Measurement and Estimation, Agrobiodiversity and
Tree Management, and Policy and Socioeconomic Aspects represent a
cross section of the opportunities and challenges in current
research and emerging issues in harnessing carbon sequestration
potential of agroforestry systems. "

The book aims at informing and educating the public at large about
the intricacies of the Negotiation Dynamics at the WTO. It traces
the period from the launch of the Uruguay Round in 1986 to its
conclusion at Marrakesh in 1994 and the subsequent entry into force
of the WTO on 1 January 1995. The book shows how WTO Ministerial
Conference in Seattle was doomed to fail and its failure led to
"trust deficit" between the developed countries on the one hand and
certain key developing and least-developed countries on the other.
Thus tracing the WTO saga that began in the wake of the failure at
Seattle and the difficult path that led to the launch of a new
Round at Doha in November 2001. The book throws light on India's
domestic decision-making structure as well as some of the factors
driving India's negotiating stance at the WTO. It also describes
the current impasse at the WTO and offers some ideas to revive an
institution that is so crucial for the smooth functioning of the
multilateral trading system.

Take a hands-on approach to understanding deep learning and build
smart applications that can recognize images and interpret text Key
Features Understand how to implement deep learning with TensorFlow
and Keras Learn the fundamentals of computer vision and image
recognition Study the architecture of different neural networks
Book Description Are you fascinated by how deep learning powers
intelligent applications such as self-driving cars, virtual
assistants, facial recognition devices, and chatbots to process
data and solve complex problems? Whether you are familiar with
machine learning or are new to this domain, The Deep Learning
Workshop will make it easy for you to understand deep learning with
the help of interesting examples and exercises throughout. The book
starts by highlighting the relationship between deep learning,
machine learning, and artificial intelligence and helps you get
comfortable with the TensorFlow 2.0 programming structure using
hands-on exercises. You'll understand neural networks, the
structure of a perceptron, and how to use TensorFlow to create and
train models. The book will then let you explore the fundamentals
of computer vision by performing image recognition exercises with
convolutional neural networks (CNNs) using Keras. As you advance,
you'll be able to make your model more powerful by implementing
text embedding and sequencing the data using popular deep learning
solutions. Finally, you'll get to grips with bidirectional
recurrent neural networks (RNNs) and build generative adversarial
networks (GANs) for image synthesis. By the end of this deep
learning book, you'll have learned the skills essential for
building deep learning models with TensorFlow and Keras. What you
will learn Understand how deep learning, machine learning, and
artificial intelligence are different Develop multilayer deep
neural networks with TensorFlow Implement deep neural networks for
multiclass classification using Keras Train CNN models for image
recognition Handle sequence data and use it in conjunction with
