machine learning, as well as recent advances in optoelectronic
materials for solar energy applications. It covers important topics
including advancements in electrolyte materials for solid oxide
fuel cells, advancements in composite materials for Li-ion
batteries, progression of materials for supercapacitor
applications, and materials progression for thermochemical storage
of low-temperature solar thermal energy systems. This book:
Discusses advances in blockchain, the Internet of Things,
artificial intelligence, material structure and hybrid technologies
Covers intelligent techniques in materials progression for sensor
development and energy material characterization using signal
processing Examines the integration of phase change materials in
construction for thermal energy regulation in new buildings
Explores the current happenings in technology in conjunction with
basic laws and mathematical models Connecting advances in
engineering materials with the use of smart techniques including
artificial intelligence, machine learning and Internet of Things
(IoT) in a single volume, this text will be especially useful for
graduate students, academic researchers and professionals in the
fields of electrical engineering, electronics engineering,
materials science, mechanical engineering and computer science.
In this two-volume biography of 1846, Indian diplomat and author
Mohan Lal (1812-77) describes the life of Amir Dost Mohammed Khan
(1793-1863), the ruler of Afghanistan. The work also includes an
eye-witness account of the disastrous First Anglo-Afghan War. Lal,
who was attached to the British mission to Kabul, had prepared an
account in English and Persian which was lost during the chaos of
the war, but he later put the story together again. In his Preface,
Lal apologises to the reader for his abundant errors both in
grammar and idiom and explains that anecdotes about the Amir's
adventures and morals were generally communicated to him
second-hand. However, the book, which contains illustrations and
draws personal correspondence, is a fascinating account of the
ruler himself and of his political dealings with the English,
Russian and Persian governments at the time of the 'Great Game' in
Central Asia.

This book gathers a collection of high-quality peer-reviewed
research papers presented at the 3rd International Conference on
Data and Information Sciences (ICDIS 2021), held at Raja Balwant
Singh Engineering Technical Campus, Agra, India, on May 14 - 15,
2021. In chapters written by leading researchers, developers, and
practitioner from academia and industry, it covers virtually all
aspects of computational sciences and information security,
including central topics like artificial intelligence, cloud
computing, and big data. Highlighting the latest developments and
technical solutions, it will show readers from the computer
industry how to capitalize on key advances in next-generation
computer and communication technology.

Shall now resume again my narrative of the army of the Indus. On
the 6th of February, 1839, the troops on the road to Haidarabad,
under the Commander-in-Chief and Sir Willoughby Cotton, were
ordered to return, and by the 18th the whole baggage and the
ordnance had crossed the Indus. In Shikarpur we every day received
numerous letters from the various chiefs of Bilochistan and of
Afghanistan, all professing their joy at our approach, and all
entertaining hopes of the reward that might be 184 SIR A. BURNES AT
SlllKARPUR. promised for co-operating with us in furtherance of the
object of the expedition. Sir Alexander Burnes, feeling not
inclined to enter Afghanistan subordinate to another political
head, the envoy and minister, Sir William Macnaghten, suggested the
propriety of his remaining at Shikarpur, in the rear of the army;
and this was agreed to by his superior. It was evident, and a topic
of conversation in the camp, that the two rival politicians do not
