This second collection of stories and poems by members of the
Montague (Prince Edward Island, Canada) Library Writers Guild
continues the variety of the first book with a totally new set of
pieces describing life and history of the Island. There are
patriotic poems, delicate pieces about lovers walking along the
beach, a story of a sailing trip and a poem about a shipwreck.
Several pieces describe the experience of newly moving here and the
challenges of starting a farm. There are even Irish heritage pieces
about Blue Moons and Banshees. The pieces are lavishly illustrated
with black and white pictures of many Island locations.
This collection of poetry and short prose pieces by members of the
Montague (PEI, Canada) Library Writers Guild gives multiple
perspectives on life on the Island. Among things new to the second
edition are pieces about Coyote problems, waiting for breakfast, a
missing boat, an island towed to the Caribbean by fishermen, and an
exposition on the beauty of the 3 seasons that make up the rest of
life on the Island. Profusely decorated with black & white
photographs, this book makes a great gift for people 'from away' as
well as a reminder to the Islanders of the things they take for
granted.
