Angelic visitations. Visions of heaven. Encounters with the forces
of evil. And insight into the End of Days. The Apocalypse of
Abraham is a classic piece of Apocalyptic literature in the same
tradition as the Book of Enoch. Preserved in Slavonic, probably
from Greek originals, both the Apocalypse of Abraham and the
Testament of Abraham are presented together with insightful
commentary from noted religious studies scholars G.H. Box and Dr.
Moses Gaster. This authoritative text has value for students,
theologians, and lay-readers alike. Students of both Christian and
Jewish demonology will find the sections on the fallen angel Azazel
and Samael, "poison of God," to be of particular interest.

This essay was originally published by Rabbi Moses Gaster in 1912
as 'The Biblical Lessons - A Chapter On Biblical Archaeology'. It
contains a detailed study of the divisions of the Tanack - the
Torah, Prophets, and Writings - through a historical examination of
the use of the terms in the literature of Rabbinic Judaism,
Samaritanism, Karaism, and early Christianity including their
relevant customs.
This scarce antiquarian book is included in our special Legacy
Reprint Series. In the interest of creating a more extensive
selection of rare historical book reprints, we have chosen to
reproduce this title even though it may possibly have occasional
imperfections such as missing and blurred pages, missing text, poor
pictures, markings, dark backgrounds and other reproduction issues
beyond our control. Because this work is culturally important, we
have made it available as a part of our commitment to protecting,
preserving and promoting the world's literature.
Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the
1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly
expensive. We are republishing these classic works in affordable,
high quality, modern editions, using the original text and artwork.
