Mr. Jalallar's autobiography gives us a unique insight into Afghanistan's sociopolitical situation and the changes it went through over the last half century, particularly during the last thirty or so years. Having served his country under three different regimes, his view is unique in that he not only witnessed the changes that swept the country during that time but his accounts help us see those changes from an entirely different perspective. With the current turmoil plaguing the country and the pictures we see in the media the autobiography is a breath of fresh air that takes us back to a time when the country's leaders were forward thinking, and focused on the country's advancement into modernity rather than holding on to backwardness. He sheds light on how his country, being poor and destitute, struggled toward modernization by seeking financial aide from the West on one side and from the USSR on the other. It is a fascinating account that shows how the country's fragile socioeconomic and political situation on the one hand and its geographic location, being a neighbor to the USSR, on the other put the country in a compromising position. It is an eye opening account of how the country's leadership struggled toward modernization and yet was unable to balance their relationship to the dichotomy of push and pull by the West from the one side and the USSR from the other. That pillar was Mr. Jalallar in his leadership position as the country's economic face to the world.

Sugarcane is one of the major sugar crops of the world. In Pakistan, it occupies a significant position in the agricultural economy. The present investigations were carried out to examine the genetic variability and contribution of some morphological characters for cane yield and response of genotypes of sugar cane toward callus formation, regeneration and screening for virus. The results pertaining to analysis of variance elucidated highly significant differences among the accessions for all the traits. The tissue culture study revealed that at different treatment over all performance of HSF-247 was better for callus induction and genotype HSF-242 performed best at 3mg/l of 2, 4-D level. All the investigation in the correlation study proved quite successful because a handful increase in cane weight and plant height is possible as they provide information regarding a suitable combination of characters with their maximum influence on the enhancement of cane weight and plant height. The clone will be selected with such combinations of characters which to give maximum improvement in their cane yield.

University-industry research collaboration is an essential, effective and dynamic factor not only for development of social community but also for the development of the nation. Despite the enormous importance of this collaboration, there have been certain problems in successful collaboration, for instance time, trainings, differences in their perceptions, orientations and goals, intellectual property right issues, some other technological competency and fund and financial matters are the key constraints that generates some how proportional to this collaboration. Thus to tackle the basis of these problems and to analyze the strength and weaknesses of these technological linkage, evaluation of such collaboration is highly demanded. This book mainly focused on the development of evaluation model, that is not only responsible for the generation of evaluation metrics based on variables like constraints, success criteria, evaluation parameters and tangible outcomes but also highlights the highly influence variables. The model generated can be utilized for any research collaboration between university-industry to generate successive evaluation metrics (Abeda et. al, 2012)

The study showed the prevalence of Salmonella enteritidis and Salmonella typhimurium from poultry feed, meat and eggs and their role in the chain of transmission of salmonellae to human beings. The objective was to generate data to improve the quality of poultry products and human health awareness. Salmonellosis is one of the most wide spread food borne zoonoses. The etiological agents S. enteritidis and S. typhimurium not only produce the disease but during the convalescent phase remain carriers for indefinite period of time. In this study 400 samples were tested with Polymerase chain reaction(PCR) assay. There was no significant difference between layers feed and broilers feed as far as identification of salmonella enteritidis and salmonella typhimurium was concerned. It was found that 16%, 8%, 16% and 16% egg albumin was found positive for Salmonella enteritidis in layer egg albumin, Desi (local breed) egg albumin, double yolk albumin and broken egg albumin, respectively. The histo-pathology of different organs of broiler chickens at different phases of disease was also conducted for the better understanding of pathogenesis due to salmonellosis.

Hepatitis is a common liver disease. It is caused by hepatitis C virus (HCV). It has a long history in humans. Jaundice is common symptom associated with hepatitis, was first described in 5th century BC by Hippocrates. Documentation of outbreaks of hepatitis dates back centuries. Despite speculation in the early twentieth century that hepatitis could be caused by an infectious agent, it took several decades and the development of more sophisticated methods of research and technology, scientists first identified the hepatitis A, B, C, viruses. These discoveries were facilitated by the recognition that many blood transfusion recipients developed hepatitis.

The purpose of this project is to identify and analysis the ways of increasing the volume of FDI in Pakistan. The whole work consists of two different approaches. The first approach is the identification of the main barrier to invest in Pakistan. In this section, the researcher is looking for the reasons why Pakistan is not making full use of its investment potential. Is it because of the ineffectiveness of Government promotion and facilitation or because of a difficult investment? Can the political and economic situation be considered stable in Pakistan? Does the inefficiency of the legal system establish negative impacts on the investment climate of Pakistan? What is the level of corrupt bureaucracy, and security situation and how does Pakistan take to improve the investment climate in the country? On the basis of such analysis, the researcher makes recommendations to Pakistan on how it can reduce the barriers to increased inward FDI volume.

T S Eliot is known for his typical critical concepts in literature. Writing on Eliot was not an easy task, nonetheless I, as a student of literature, have tried to express myself on the use and practice of the indigenous ideas like 'impersonality of poetry' and 'literary tradition' in an academic setting. I hope this will help especially young students understand Eliot in a better way and will also help and encourage me to read and work more on the writers of his class. Eliot can be termed as 'Mirza Ghalib' regarding sophistication and difficulties of his poetic expressions; every time you read them, you find yet new meanings and themes between the same lines. this timeless quality does not let them get obsolete and this is what will keep pulling the attention of researchers of every age to work on them from newer angles.
