The fields of Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT) have seen
tremendous advances, developments, and growth in recent years. The
IoT is the inter-networking of connected smart devices, buildings,
vehicles and other items which are embedded with electronics,
software, sensors and actuators, and network connectivity that
enable these objects to collect and exchange data. The IoT produces
a lot of data. Big data describes very large and complex data sets
that traditional data processing application software is inadequate
to deal with, and the use of analytical methods to extract value
from data. This edited book covers analytical techniques for
handling the huge amount of data generated by the Internet of
Things, from architectures and platforms to security and privacy
issues, applications, and challenges as well as future directions.
Data analysis forms the basis of many modes of research ranging
from scientific discoveries to governmental findings. With the
advent of machine intelligence and neural networks, extracting and
modeling, approaching data has been unimpeachably altered. These
changes, seemingly small, affect the way societies organize
themselves, deliver services, or interact with each other.

Under-actuated systems belong to the class of nonlinear systems
that have fewer actuators than the degrees of freedom. The examples
include mobile robots, legged robots, air crafts, helicopters and
underwater robots. This work comprehensively discusses the design
of linear and fuzzy logic controllers for such systems with ball on
beam as the test bed. MATLAB/Simulink environment has been used to
validate the designed controllers.
Waste from various industries contains numerous aromatic compounds
that are carcinogenic in nature and have harmful impact on human
health. Currently, several procedures are being used for removal of
phenol (an aromatic compound) from industrial wastewater. Among
these, application of enzymatic catalysis has the potential to
substitute conventional methods of waste treatment. On other hand,
TURNIP (Brassica napis) is widely cultivated as vegetable in
different part of the world and cost effective because of its
low-priced and readily availability. Turnip's peroxidase content
derived from its extract was evaluated for removal of phenolic
content present in tannery wastewater. Along with cost
effectiveness and greater activity, crude TURNIP extract
(comprising peroxidase) is an environment friendly approach to
remove phenolic contents from polluted water. This book deals with
each aspect of wastewater/ tannery effluent treatment through
turnip extract (turnip peroxidases) to remove the phenolic
contents. Moreover, this book also comprises methodology to
maximize the activity of peroxidases for utmost elimination of
phenolic contaminants.
This book is based on the role of co-morbid disorder; beta
thalassemia minor with iron deficiency anemia in the promulgation
of beta thalassemia gene. This book explain the pathophysiology of
co-morbid condition and its effect on hematological parameters and
Hb-A2 levels. This book is useful for the medical students, general
physicians, consultant hematologist and Pathologist. In the areas
where beta thalassemia is more common genetic disorder this book
will proved as useful tool to stop the propagation of beta
thalassemia gene in homozygous state
This book is based on molecular genetics of beta thalassemia
syndrome. The data revealed the molecular spectrum of beta
thalassemia genes in Pakistan. The manuscript also explains the
evaluation of beta thalassemia gene in Pakistani population from
its basic Mediterranean origin. This book is very much useful for
molecular biologist, hematologist and students of genetics. This
book is also described in detail the methodology of ARMS PCR used
for detection of thalassemia genes.
This survey report is based on issues of consumers and its impact
on their behavior and to take some necessary steps to understand
those issues. In the last one decade, a number of Pakistani
satellite and other channels have been started which increase the
choice for the viewers to watch different types of program. As we
know that most of the people in Pakistan are watching international
Satellite channels due to which people are forgetting their own
culture. In this survey, we only surveyed different sectors of
Rawalpindi/Islamabad to check the behavior of viewers. The analysis
is based on the behavior of the viewers towards Pakistani media.
The book is written on the research conducted to determine the
creditworthiness of a company/firm. To do the analysis, the firm
i.e. Dera Ghazi Khan Cement Company (D. G. Khan Cement Company) has
been selected for analysis purpose and its secondary data was
obtained from the audited financial (annual) statements of the
company and are used for analysis and assessment of financial
stability. To examine the creditworthiness of company different
tools that are used i.e. liquidity analysis, capital structure and
solvency analysis, du pont analysis and comparative analysis of
balance sheet and profit and loss account income statement. The
required data is gathered from annual reports and financial
statements i.e. Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow
Statements for last 12 years i.e. from 2000-01 to 2011-12. The
empirical results are analyzed on the basis of ratios. Liquidity
and solvency ratios help to assess the creditworthiness of a
company and it guides investors and shareholders to take effective
decision.
The Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL)is now become a fast and
routine procedure for nephrolithiasis in most urological centres.
The aim of study is to assess the changes in standard procedure and
its outcome on patient morbidity. As we discussed that the
conventional procedure need the placement of nephrostomy tube, so
we assess, is the nephrostomy tube, is really worthwhile after
procedure? if needed, is it necessary to put the large bore tube
instead of small bore tube. we compare, the outcome of large bore,
with small bore, and tubeless PCNL. we comes on conclusion, that
patients with tubeless have definitely edge over those group having
nephrostomy tube, with no added morbidity.
This project was designed for the evaluation of the current
pharmacy practices at community pharmacies of Lahore on basis of
WHO/FIP guidelines. This assessment was based on 50 indicators in
form of survey which fulfills almost all areas of community
pharmacy practice. Questionnaire was filled through the verbal
communication with personnel. Total of 200 drug sale outlets were
selected. The collected data was used to categorize the drug sale
outlets on basis of score in four categories (A, B, C, and D).
According to results obtained 88% of drug sale outlets secured
below 50% of the total score .The data was analyzed using
descriptive statistics. It was concluded that GPP guidelines for
pharmacy practices need to be established in Pakistan. Qualified
pharmacist should personally supervise the drug sale outlets to
enhance the rational use of drugs. The compounding and dispensing
section has a lot of improvement to be done regarding formulation
and supervision personally by pharmacist and also these premises
have to be separate from major area as per law. Other major areas
identified by this study that require improvement include training,
premises, storage system, and service.
