Myths and related stories describe essential human experience
which, requiring use of the imagination, reconcile and give voice
to fantasy and reality. Speaking through images which embrace the
paradox of possible and impossible, the likely and the desired,
they stimulate our personal expressive abilities in a way quite
distinct from the absorption of prescribed images which television
and radio present. This book is concerned with rekindling that
creative power of the human imagination which in the West has
atrophied through neglect. It is concerned with increasing an
understanding of the need to exercise our imagination as one of our
psychic functions, as well as the need to exercise our bodies. This
book contains myths and tales from all over the world which are
grouped around seven themes, all reflective of forms of human
experience. The authors suggest ways in which these myths and tales
can be used to develop our imagination's original and unique voice
through educational and therapeutic encounter, and how this
expression can be communicated to others who are engaged in the
same task.

and by the end of the day, everything had changed?
When her husband of forty years wants a divorce,

and the home of her heart.
_______
Heartbreak turns to intrigue; a season of grief leads to a wig,

wide-open future.

Location. Location. Location. Nancy King gets it right when she
explores how a woman radically changes her life by changing her
location. A plant can't thrive in any old soil; it has to be the
right terrain. Changing Spaces is a reminder that one can leave the
past behind, find new soil, and thrive in a different, and better,
present and future.

DISCUSSION GUIDE INCLUDED
Each year thousands of families throughout the United States and
the world open their homes and hearts to international high school
exchange students-sharing their own culture and learning about
another. As these families face the challenges and joys of hosting,
Nancy King's and Ken Huff 's Host Family Survival Kit will provide
them with valuable information and advice to help ensure that their
experience will be a success. Authors King and Huff provide an
overview of hosting, defining the role that exchange students play
in the host family, outlining the skills needed by host parents and
discussing the effect of culture on the host family/exchange
student relationship. They then divide the hosting experience into
nine stages, making recommendations on what to expect and how to
handle day-to-day situations. Throughout, they include insightful
quotes and pertinent examples from experienced host families. In
this second edition, they have made major revisions to all of the
original chapters. In addition, they have added two new chapters
and three new appendices. The Host Family Survival Kit is an
indispensable guide to the hosting experience, and will leave
readers both excited about and well prepared for their role as host
parents.
