Supernatural thriller starring Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts. Writer Will Atenton (Craig) and his wife, Libby (Weisz), move with their two young daughters from Manhattan to a small town in New England. Unfortunately, after a series of strange occurrences they discover that their idyllic new home was once the site of a horrific crime - and that their new neighbour, Ann Patterson (Watts), appears to know more than she is willing to tell them.
In this US remake of his 1997 film 'Funny Games', director Michael Haneke delivers a savage critique on the way violence is portrayed in the media. Arriving at their remote holiday cabin in the Hamptons for a quiet vacation, George (Tim Roth), his wife Ann (Naomi Watts), and their young son Georgie (Devon Gearheart), find themselves subjected to a harrowing ordeal involving mental and physical torture, when two young, psychotic killers come calling.
Epic remake of the adventure classic from acclaimed director Peter Jackson. In Depression-era New York, unscrupulous filmmaker Carl Denham (Jack Black) is desperate to find a leading lady for his new picture. After a chance encounter, naive actress Ann Darrow (Naomi Watts) takes the role, and travels with Denham and sensitive scriptwriter Jack Driscoll (Adrien Brody) to the mysterious Skull Island, deep in the Indian Ocean. There the filmmakers discover a secret, savage civilisation that time forgot, and that worships a terrifying, gigantic ape called Kong (a motion-capture performance from Andy Serkis). When Ann is captured to be sacrificed to Kong, the ape becomes obsessed with her. Denham uses this obsession to help capture Kong and transport him back to New York, where he hopes he can make a fortune from exhibiting the creature. But after Kong escapes, the ape unleashes his awesome power against the city in an attempt to find Ann, the woman he truly loves, leading to a tragic conclusion atop the Empire State Building.
The Farrelly brothers are among the creators of this compendium-style comedy filmed in the style of 1970s sketch films such as 'Kentucky Fried Movie' and 'Groove Tube'. The film comprises over 20 comedy shorts, loosely held together by an over-arching storyline and featuring a star-studded ensemble cast that includes Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Richard Gere, Chloë Moretz, Gerard Butler, Emma Stone, Kristen Bell and Elizabeth Banks.
Clint Eastwood directs this biopic starring Leonardo DiCaprio as J. Edgar Hoover, the head of American law enforcement for nearly 50 years. Hoover was the first ever Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from its inception till his death in 1972. Both admired and vilified during his lifetime, he covertly collated a number of files on political and public figures such as Eleanor Roosevelt, the Kennedy brothers and Martin Luther King, while at the same time keeping the truth of his own private life a closely guarded secret. The film offers a portrayal of a complex and controversial figure, as seen through the eyes of Hoover himself. Naomi Watts, Armie Hammer, Ed Westwick, Dermot Mulroney and Judi Dench co-star.
Three films from legendary American director David Lynch. In 'The Elephant Man' (1980), John Merrick (John Hurt) is a brutalised man, treated as a freak since childhood because of his appalling physical deformities, until he is discovered by London doctor Frederick Treves (Anthony Hopkins), who treats him with the kindness and intelligence he deserves. Unfortunately, by awakening his true character the problems continue, for he can never lead a 'normal' life. In 'Mulholland Drive' (2001), having narrowly survived a murder attempt and a car crash, a shocked and wounded woman (Laura Elena Harring) takes refuge in a nearby apartment. When she is discovered the next morning by the apartment's official resident, aspiring actress Betty Elms (Naomi Watts), she confesses that she neither knows who she is nor what happened to her. The two women then begin to investigate, and it gradually becomes clear that they have known each other in the past. Meanwhile, a young film director (Justin Theroux) finds that the mob are taking an unusual interest in the casting of his latest film. Finally, in 'Inland Empire' (2006), Laura Dern plays Nikki Grace, an ingenue actress whose latest role in a Tennessee Williams-esque fright of a film tests her to her limits. A parallel storyline shows an earlier attempt to make this film in Poland which ended in tragedy when the two lead players were offed.
Trapped in a time loop that constantly repeats the day of his murder, former special forces agent Roy Pulver (Frank Grillo) is forced to relive his death over and over again. To escape and save his family, Roy must outrun skilled ruthless assassins determined to keep him from breaking out of the loop.
