Providing an up-to-date account of Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) with contributions from the world's leading experts, each chapter offers new insights on the topic, building upon MMT's established body of work. This innovative book analyses key economic issues from a wide set of regions including the UK, Europe and the Global South, addressing previous concerns that MMT is too US-focused. Alongside ground-breaking research written by MMT's original developers and leading academics, the book also includes contributions from economic historians and public policy campaigners, highlighting how MMT contributes to challenging neoliberalism and the hegemony of mainstream macroeconomics. Offering an examination of the existing legal, institutional and policy framework which governs the UK Exchequer in particular, it examines how the central claims of MMT map onto the financial activities of the UK government. This will be key reading for undergraduate and postgraduate economics students, as well as more advanced scholars of the discipline, particularly for those looking into theories of finance, money and banking. It will also have a wider appeal across the social sciences, including politics and sociology students.

The Cairngorms cover 300 sq miles, making it the most mountainous area in Britain, with an equally wide range of wildlife. The native pine forest, one of the final retreats of the red squirrel, supports small, uncommon birds like crested tits, redwings and crossbills. Loch Garten is the RSPB osprey breeding site where in summer the birds fly over a considerable tract of country in search of food. In scenic contrast, there is also an ascent to the summit of Carn Daimh, part of the Speyside Way, with its splendid panorama of the countryside surrounding Glenlivet.

Now in its 10th edition, 'Whisky in Your Pocket', has been thoroughly revised. It contains details for 130 malt and grain whiskies, and 26 blended whiskies. The book contains handy regional reference maps and up-to-date bottle shots, and guides on pricing. The book also gives suggestions for comparable whiskies. It is based on the late Wallace Milroy's 'Malt Whisky Almanac'. Milroy was one of the world's most respected whisky connoisseurs. Neil Wilson was Milroy's co-author and is a renowned whisky historian and writer. The Malt Whisky Almanac is known and admired for its simple and straightforward approach, its lack of pretension and clarity. This edition is completely revised and expanded. The book was first published in 1986 and written by Wallace Milroy with Neil Wilson. Back in the 1960s and 70s, Wallace Milroy and his brother Jack introduced malt whisky to London from their Soho Wine Market. Neil Wilson persuaded Wallace to create a beginner's guide to single bottled malts and together they conceived 'The Original Malt Whisky Almanac: A Taster's Guide'. It went on to sell over 300,000 copies. This edition is an up-to-date guide to whisky suitable for beginners and enthusiasts.

Originally published in 1979, this book is the result of a Wiese family reunion. Initially, it was merely supposed to cover the immediate family or the children of Fred and Hulda Wiese. However, the search quickly expanded to encompass many more family members. Much of the information was yielded by the living children and grandchildren of Carl and Minna Wiese who came to the United States from Germany in 1869, leaving a farm that had been registered since 1689 and is still in the possession of a Chris Wiese. This work is full of well-documented facts such as: ship's logs, U.S. census records, church records, and wills. It also includes a genealogical table, citizenship papers, military records, emigration papers, family bibles, marriage records, etc. Maps and family photographs abound. Although the information contained within this book is a good mix of "both hazy memories as well as documented evidence," the author suggests that the reader "take into consideration that if time and age have distorted the facts and truths, these memories are better than knowing nothing."
