This may be the most unusual golf book ever written. At one of a series of clinics that former USPGA teacher of the year Craig Shankland staged, he asked Moe Norman in front of about 300 people, “What’s it like to hit perfect shots, Moe?†Moe paused and looked at the audience. Then, in jest, said, “You will never know.†Mind Golf assembles and ignites the mental energy of the image of the shot-to-be. Moe “Pipeline Moeâ€Â Norman was a Canadian professional golfer and the best ball-striker the world has ever known. Author Bob Young met the eccentric golfer and traveled between Canada and Florida from the early 1960s to 2004, where he was able to observe Pipeline Moe for decades. Mind Golf is about life and golf and the metaphysical connection between Norman’s mechanics and Young’s perception of the mental construct of ball striking. The core of Mind Golf recounts the trail to Young’s discovery, which will help you discover it too.

One of the most perceptive descriptions of Manchester City's play during their glory years was made by "Manchester Evening News" reporter Peter Gardner who said that 'When Youngy plays, City play'. For all the talk in the intervening years of greats such as Summerbee, Bell and Lee, it was the local lad made good who made most impact when it mattered. A tall, leggy striker with a venomous left-foot shot, Young scored in every significant game for City in the late 60s. Scorer of two goals in the 1968 Championship win up at Newcastle, the scorer of the 1969 FA Cup Final winner and the first goal in the 1970 Cup Winners' Cup final, Neil Young played as significant a role in the success and style of the Mercer-Allison partnership as anyone. Yet by 1972 he was allowed to leave the club as City began their now familiar relationship with underachievement and mismanagement. In "Catch a Falling Star", Neil Young explains what he has been up to in the years since his sizzling shots stung the hands of the country's finest goalkeepers. Here he frankly discusses the problem that faced footballers of the pre-Premiership era: 'When I left Rochdale for the last time one Friday afternoon I had a week's wages...about GBP60. I drove home and sat in my lounge for about two hours, wondering what the hell I was going to do. I had a car on HP, a mortgage, a wife and three children to feed. I was the provider who could no longer provide. I had no savings whatsoever and my wife didn't work. I didn't see it coming. It was a calamity waiting to happen'. Thus starts Neil's decline into illness and depression. During the next painful decade Neil suffered numerous illnesses, lost his family, his mother and survived a suicide attempt. Thankfully, he has emerged with his spirit intact thanks largely to the love of his third wife, Carmen. "Catch a Falling Star" is the moving tale of a how a star on the wane managed to mount a personal comeback as impressive as any achieved on the pitch by City's star-studded squad of the late 60s.
Now even beginning guitarists can play 16 Neil Young classics! Includes easy arrangements in notes & tab for: After the Gold Rush * Cinnamon Girl * Harvest Moon * Heart of Gold * Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black) * Like a Hurricane * Old Man * Rockin' in the Free World * Southern Man * and more, plus photos and lyric sheets.
Waging Heavy Peace is the remarkable memoir of rock icon Neil Young Neil Young is a singular figure in the history of rock and pop culture in the last four decades, inducted not once but twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Reflective, insightful and disarmingly honest, Waging Heavy Peace is his long-awaited memoir. From his youth in Canada to his crazy journey out to California, through Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills & Nash, to his massively successful solo career and his re-emergence as the patron saint of grunge on to his role today as one of the last uncompromised and uncompromising survivors of rock 'n' roll - this is Neil's story told in his own words. Young presents a kaleidoscopic view of personal life and musical creativity; it's a journey that spans the snows of Ontario to the LSD-laden boulevards of 1966 Los Angeles to the contemplative paradise of Hawaii today. Along the way he writes about the music, the victims, the girls and the drugs; about his happy family life but also about the health problems he and his children have experienced; about guitars, cars and sound systems; about Canada and California and Hawaii. Candid, witty and revealing, this book takes its place beside the classic memoirs of Bob Dylan and Keith Richards. 'Wryly funny, deeply moving, painfully honest' Guardian 'He's talking to you, not at you, unravelling himself as well, and you don't want it to end . . . You see rock and roll history from the inside out, and in the present tense' Independent 'Young appears bounteous and joyful, a genuinely happy hippy . . . Unusually for a rock memoir, this one is almost completely angst-free' Sunday Times 'Dryly hilarious . . . poignant . . . Waging Heavy Peace shows that Young is still in full possession of that stubborn, brilliant, one-of-a-kind instrument' Rolling Stone 'A real treat . . . he writes openly and movingly abut the key figures in his life...you feel you know Young better for reading it' Metro
Harvest Moon is the twenty-first studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, released in 1992. Many of the musicians appearing on it also appeared on his 1972 album Harvest, and this album is considered by many to be a pseudo-sequel to Harvest. Recovering from a case of tinnitus that had come about after the recording of 1990's Ragged Glory and its subsequent tour (which produced 1991's Weld and Arc), Young was determined to return to the studio.
Jim Jarmusch directs this rock documentary featuring Neil Young and his band Crazy Horse on tour in 1996. As well as concert performances, Jarmusch includes behind-the-scenes footage and interviews filmed between 1976 and 1986. Tracks include 'Like a Hurricane', 'Tonight's the Night' and 'Chief Crazy Horse'. Longtime Neil Young producer, the late David Briggs, came up with the idea for the film, and the title refers to a comment he made to the singer shortly before his death: 'this is the year of the horse. All you have to do now is get closer and closer to the source. Keep getting purer and purer.'

Loosely based on the seminal 'Gonzo' writings of Hunter S. Thompson, this comedy stars Bill Murray as the renegade, drug-crazed, drunken journalist 'Dr' Hunter Thompson, who decides to cover the Super Bowl and the 1972 Presidential Election, accompanied by his reprobate lawyer Carl Lazlo (Peter Boyle), in his own inimitable style.
