Flight attendant turned New York Times bestselling author T. J. Newman - whose first book Falling was an instant international bestseller and the biggest thriller debut of 2021 - returns for her second book, an edge-of-your-seat thriller about a commercial jetliner that crashes into the ocean, and sinks to the bottom with passengers trapped inside, and the extraordinary rescue operation to save them.
Six minutes after takeoff, Flight 1421 crashes into the Pacific Ocean. During the evacuation, an engine explodes and the plane is flooded. Those still alive are forced to close the doors—but it’s too late. The plane sinks to the bottom with twelve passengers trapped inside.
More than two hundred feet below the surface, engineer Will Kent and his eleven-year-old daughter Shannon are waist-deep in water and fighting for their lives. Their only chance at survival is an elite rescue team on the surface led by professional diver Chris Kent - Shannon’s mother and Will’s soon-to-be ex-wife - who must work together with Will to find a way to save their daughter and rescue the passengers from the sealed airplane, which is now teetering on the edge of an undersea cliff.
There’s not much time.
With devastating emotional power and heart-stopping suspense, Drowning is an unforgettable thriller about a family’s desperate fight to save themselves and the people trapped with them - against impossible odds.

From a seasoned insider of global finance comes a "stimulating,
relevant, and dramatic" (The Wall Street Journal) thriller about a
group of American operatives who secretly take over the world's
largest dark money fund--"a gripping thriller that takes you into
the world of New York hedge funds, Russian money launderers, and DC
power politics [that] makes you feel like you're actually there"
(Bill Browder, author of Red Notice). When a US airdrop of billions
of dollars disap-pears in the desert sands of Syria, only a small
group of military operatives knows its ultimate destination or why
it has been stolen. Their goal is no less than the restoration of
America's geopolitical dominance on the global stage. Essential to
this scheme are Greta Webb, a sophisticated CIA operative who is an
expert on dark money, not to mention lethally skilled in
hand-to-hand combat, and Elias Vicker, the damaged, dangerous soul
who runs the world's largest hedge fund. To achieve its goals, the
group must form dangerous alliances. One is with the hidden family
that manages the largest private pool of capital that has ever
existed. Another is with Fyodor Volk, the ruthless founder of
Russia's most successful private military company, a mercenary with
ties to Vladimir Putin. Volk has his eye on Greta. She would be
wise to avoid him but cannot. Arcing from Manhattan's finest
apartments to Washington, DC, from Middle Eastern war zones to
private European bank vaults, Jay Newman's Undermoney follows the
Americans as they are enmeshed in the world of dark money and
confront ever-increasing danger. Ultimately, they must decide
whether their objectives are worth the cost of sacrificing not just
a few but potentially many human lives. "Unexpectedly timely" (The
New Yorker), Undermoney is a "wildly entertaining peek behind the
curtain of American politics, financial skullduggery, and
high-stakes global conflict" (Nelson DeMille).
This accessible How To Guide provides practical, expert guidance on
how to successfully set up and run a law clinic. Donald Nicolson,
JoNel Newman and Richard Grimes explore the process of designing a
clinic to address unmet legal needs, enhance student learning, and
maximise the additional benefits of a clinic. How to Set up and Run
a Legal Clinic is a comprehensive guide to the theory and practice
of running a clinic. Based on the authorsâ first-hand experience,
the book analyses a variety of day-to-day issues that can arise
when setting up a law clinic and provides invaluable solutions to
these commonly occurring challenges. In investigating how clinics
may be run, and what services they can provide, the book
investigates possible tensions between educational and social
justice objectives, and how they may be resolved to meet these dual
aims. The book examines how the expectations of all stakeholders,
including those with regulatory oversight of clinical activities,
can be managed and met. Those working within law schools who are
wishing to set up or expand law clinics will find this book to be
highly useful. It will be a valuable resource for those aiming to
enhance employability and experiential learning offerings.
Students, and legal practitioners, wishing to gain insight into the
value of clinical work will also find this to be a helpful guide.

PEARCE Who knows you better than your best friend? Who knows your
secrets, your fears, your desires, your strange imperfect self? Edi
and Ash have been best friends for over forty years. Since
childhood they have seen each other through life's milestones:
stealing vodka from their parents, the Madonna phase, REM concerts,
unexpected wakes, marriages, infertility, children. As Ash notes,
'Edi's memory is like the back-up hard drive for mine.' So when Edi
is diagnosed with terminal cancer, Ash's world reshapes around the
rhythms of Edi's care, from chipped ice and watermelon cubes to
music therapy; from snack smuggling to impromptu excursions into
the frozen winter night. Because life is about squeezing the joy
out of every moment, about building a powerhouse of memories, about
learning when to hold on, and when to let go. For fans of Nora
Ephron and Sorrow & Bliss, We All Want Impossible Things is a

Musical drama in which a pair of aspiring musicians with
unglamorous day jobs team up in a bid to find success. Nate (Alec
Newman) works in the financial services industry during the day,
identifying struggling companies in order to bet against them on
the stock market and bring home profit. Aware of the job's inherent
unpleasantness, he seeks refuge at night playing the piano and in
his dreams of life as a professional musician. One night, while
playing his music, he hears someone singing along on the street
outside. It turns out to be Chloe (Amy Adams), a cloakroom worker
from the nearby jazz club who also dreams of a better life.
Recognising the beauty of Chloe's voice, Nate suggests that the
pair marry their talents and become a musical duo. Will their
musical relationship develop into something more?
Three classic films starring comedy duo Stan Laurel and Oliver
Hardy. In 'The Dancing Masters' (1943), Stan (Laurel) and Ollie

which involves inflicting injuries on Stan, but the inept pair soon
find themselves mixed up with local gangsters. Watch out for
appearances by long-running Marx Brothers' foil Margaret Dumont and
a youthful Robert Mitchum. In 'A-haunting We Will Go' (1942),
Laurel and Hardy unknowingly offer to help a bunch of crooks
smuggle a wanted man past the police in a coffin. Unfortunately,
the casket gets mixed up with one used by a stage musician, leading
to a comic chase. Finally, in 'The Bullfighters' (1945), Stan and
Ollie are two detectives looking for a female criminal in Mexico.
Stan gets mistaken for a famous matador and is forced to show his
prowess in the bullring.

The Kingdom (2007)
When a terrorist bomb detonates inside a Western housing compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an international incident is ignited. While diplomats slowly debate equations of territorialism, FBI Special Agent Ronald Fleury (Jamie Foxx) quickly assembles an elite team and negotiates a secret five-day trip into Saudi Arabia to locate the madman behind the bombing. Upon landing in the desert kingdom, however, Fleury and his team discover Saudi authorities suspicious and unwelcoming of American interlopers into what they consider a local matter. Hamstrung by protocol, and with the clock ticking on their five days, the FBI agents find their expertise worthless without the trust of their Saudi counterparts who want to locate the terrorist in their homeland on their own terms. Fleury's crew finds a like-minded partner in Saudi Police Captain Al-Ghazi (Ashraf Barhom), who helps them navigate royal politics and unlock the secrets of the crime scene and the workings of an extremist, hell bent on further destruction.
Jarhead (2006)
An adaptation of former Marine Anthony Swofford's Gulf War memoir. Young recruit Swofford (Jake Gyllenhaal) joins up with the US Marines (nicknamed 'Jarheads' because of their distinctive haircuts) on the eve of the 1990 Gulf War. After a brutal spell in boot camp, during which Swofford and his fellow recruits are systematically geared up for the conflict, the Marines are dispatched to the deserts of the Persian Gulf to take part in a war that sees them required to do very little in the way of fighting. Bored and frustrated in the middle of nowhere, the young soldiers resort to a macabre sense of humour as they wait for the war to happen to them.
Animated double bill. 'Anastasia' is an animated retelling of the
story of the Russian peasant girl who finds out that she is
actually the daughter of Tsar Nicholas II. After the revolution in
1917, she is spirited away from the Bolshevik executions of her
family, and taken in by a family in Siberia. Anastasia soon sets
out to reclaim her royal legacy. This version of the allegedly true
story features the vocal talents of Meg Ryan, John Cusack, Kelsey
Grammer, Christopher Lloyd and Angela Lansbury. In the spin-off
'Bartok the Magnificent', it is up to Bartok and his chum Zozi to
rescue the kidnapped Prince Ivan from evil Baba Yaga - but can they
act before Royal Regent Ludmilla seizes the throne?
