Katy Manning returns to the much-loved role of Josephine "Jo" Grant from the much loved 1970s Jon Pertwee Third Doctor era of television Doctor Who, teaming up with actor Tim Treloar who voices the Doctor. 4.1 The Rise of the New Humans by Guy Adams. When a man dies by falling from the top floor of a multi-storey car park, the Doctor and Jo wonder why it should be of interest to UNIT. Then they see the protuberances on the man’s back... As he fell, he tried to grow wings. Looking into the man’s past leads the Doctor and Jo to a remote private hospital where the staff aren’t as helpful as they could be, and the Chief Administrator is unavailable to meet with them. Breaking into some restricted wards, the Doctor notes the presence of alien and futuristic technology. The whole thing bears the unmistakable hallmarks of one of his own people’s interference, one of his old foes. Except not perhaps the one he might have imagined. The Monk is back. And this time his meddling may have gone too far. 4.2 The Tyrants of Logic by Marc Platt. he Doctor and Jo land on Port Anvil –a bleak, abandoned mining colony on the remote planet Burnt Salt. A huge armoured crate has recently arrived in the almost derelict Spacehub. No-one knows who it’s for. No-one knows what it contains. Strange creatures lurk around the outskirts, and a rag-tag population of misfits inhabit what is left of the town: a saloon bar owner, a literal one-man band and a hunter of very unusual prey. If they want to survive the night, they’re going to have to work together. Because the Cybermen want the contents of the crate. And they will stop at nothing to get hold of it. Director Nicholas Briggs is one of the Big Finish executive producers, and is also well known for his role on TV's Doctor Who voicing the Daleks and other monsters. In the shabby seaside town of Bayview, Kayla Worthington is sitting on the beach waiting for an alien invasion. Her patience is rewarded when an alien arrives, although he doesn’t seem to be invading. He’s called the Doctor, and he wants to buy her a cup of tea. 2.3 The Melting Pot by Christopher Cooper. Arriving on Piir to sample the local cuisine, the Doctor finds a society wildly different from the one he remembers. With violence brewing on the streets, the Doctor will have to get to the bottom of what has gone wrong on Piir, before the world tears itself apart. 2.4 A Tragical History by Tessa North. To most of the inmates in Hythe Prison, life is miserable. However, some are living out their idealised lives within its walls. Amongst the dank conditions, the Doctor is about to uncover the key to everything he could ever desire. The TARDIS crew’s attempts to escape E-Space lead them to a strange planet with a surface that shifts and changes constantly. Losing their ship down a fissure, they venture into the depths of this world and encounter the man who rules this place – a man known only as ‘the Engineer’. He tells them that he’s on a quest for illumination, and to find a rumoured portal in space that may lead to another reality, with knowledge unknown in this universe. It seems he may be on the same quest as the Doctor and his friends. But can he be trusted? And who is he really?
