The second series of the 1980s situation comedy starring Peter
Tilbury as a man suffering a particularly severe midlife crisis. To
say Philip Roath (Tilbury) is unsatisfied with his life is an
understatement. Divorced, stuck in a dead-end job, losing his hair,
all Philip really wants to do these days is complain. He moans to
his colleagues so much that his boss (Christopher Benjamin) becomes
convinced that he does almost nothing else at work. Out of hours,
Philip likes to complain as well. Unfortunately, his psychiatrist,
Simon (Nicholas Le Prevost), clearly has even more issues than he
does. The episodes are: 'Aren't Our Policemen Wonderful', 'At First
the Infant', 'Night and Day', 'Listening in', 'Personnel', 'Pros
and Cons' and 'Scenes from Country Life'.
Martin Shaw stars as P.D. James's detective Adam Dalgliesh in these
adaptations of her popular crime novels. In 'Death in Holy Orders',
Dalgliesh returns to St Anselm's, the theological college he
attended in his youth, where a rash of brutal murders forces him to
confront old memories. In 'The Murder Room', Dalgliesh traces the
clues in a murder all the way to the House of Lords.

suffered family tragedies. When Jake (Dan Fredenburgh) returns home
after the death of his father, he strikes up an immediate
friendship with B (Doraly Rosa). B also has a family catastrophe to
deal with - her husband, Chester (Paul Bettany), has suffered a
stroke and, though still alive, will most likely be crippled for
life. Further complicating matters, Jake is engaged to the
enthusiastic but preoccupied Zoe (Olivia Williams). As Jake and B
become closer, the two couples face tough decisions about their
future and struggle to find a balance between their own desires and
the reluctance to hold back or harm a loved one.
