This Academy Award nominated film is set in 1942 and was Terrence Malick's first film for twenty years. As US soldiers land on the island of Guadalcanal, hoping to capture it from the Japanese, the job of venturing into the jungle falls to the 'C for Charlie' company and the troops are faced by both the enemy and struggles within their own camp. The war takes a heavy toll upon the young soldiers, leading them on a path of disillusion and possibly death.
One day you're the sexiest man alive, and another day your face is like a flattened road-killed bird in the worst mug shot of all time. In a career spanning five decades, Nick Nolte has endured the rites of Hollywood celebrity. Rising from obscurity to leading roles and Oscar nominations, he has been both celebrated and vilified in the media; survived marriages, divorces, and a string of romances; was named the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine; and suffered public humiliation over his drug and alcohol issues, including a drug-fueled trip down a long road of nothingness that ended in arrest. Despite these ups and downs, Nolte has remained true to the craft he loves, portraying a diverse range of characters with his trademark physicality and indelible gravelly voice. Already 35 when his performance in the 1976 miniseries Rich Man, Poor Man launched him to stardom, Nolte never learned to play by Hollywood's rules. A rebel who defies expectations, an obsessive method actor who will go to extremes for a role (he lived among the homeless to prepare for Down and Out in Beverly Hills), Nolte is motivated more by edgier, more personal projects than by box office success. Today he is clean yet still driven, juggling a number of upcoming works and raising his young daughter. A man who refuses to hide his mistakes, Nolte now delivers his most revealing performance yet. His revealing memoir, filled with sixteen pages of color photos, offers a candid, unvarnished close-up look at the man, the career, the loves, and the life.

Ben Stiller writes, directs and stars in this film-within-a-film action comedy. During the filming of a big-budget Vietnam epic, the self-absorbed stars signed up to the project behave unreasonably, resulting in a four million dollar explosion going off with no cameras shooting - and rendering the whole project unviable before it has even begun. The director of the film, Damien Cockburn (Steve Coogan), decides to leave the spoiled actors in the middle of the jungle - and, in an attempt to salvage some footage from the wreckage of the doomed project, installs hidden cameras to follow their escape. The actors are left with only a map and a scene listing to guide them to the helicopter waiting at the end of the jungle. Along the way they encounter a series of obstacles including land mines and an international heroin-dealing ring. The ensemble cast includes Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr, Nick Nolte, Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey.

Tommy, tortured by his recent experience as a soldier, reconnects with his father to some extent when he enlists him as his coach for the upcoming Sparta mixed martial arts competition, which Tommy hopes to win in order to be able to give the prize money to the family of a fallen comrade. Brendan, in contrast, needs the money to provide for his wife and children after losing his job. How will the brothers cope if the tournament forces them to go against the fraternal bond and do battle?
When he is the only survivor of a cop shooting, hard-nosed Jack Cates (Nick Nolte) springs prison inmate Reggie Hammond (Eddie Murphy) from jail for just forty-eight hours to help him catch the perpetrators. Cates knows that he can rely on Reggie's assistance, as the killers are now heading for the half million stash of dollars for which the jailbird went down in the first place.
